Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Today had been so many forms of bad for the boy. Why did things have to happen? It just sounded really freaking annoying to be completely honest on those things. He wondered what people would do? Why did Devan have to forget him? Just seriously why did people make his boyfriend forget. It stung Caelan a lot. Though he'd rather keep his mouth shut about that one.
At the very least he'd do that. It might not be so bad. Yet he also felt he wasn't entirely about this. Caelan had never been able to handle his emotions very well so it stressed him out. Even now he still felt stressed out. Like things were going to get so much worse. He couldn't date him, kiss him or touch him. So those thoughts on there own were depressing as all heck. What could he do? He struggled to control his emotions this whole time. It just never seemed to end up working. Caelan had no luck in that area, and he hated it.
He had walked into the woods to get away. Devan was busy off god knows where. Caelan had finished his patrols for the evening. And well here he was. Though it probably didn't matter all that much. With a small sigh he pushed his fingers through his hair. This made him feel confused. Lost in general or at least something along those lines. Just what could he end up doing? It might not end up getting him anywhere. Something about this didn't seem all that right to him. He barely knew what to do. Caelan had a feeling something really bad might happen. All because he was so stupid to come out here this way. Basically. What could he do?
So far it only seemed his thoughts started to get the better of him. Which was not good. It made him feel really bad. Basically. For now he'd rather shrug it off. He would lean back underneath a tree and close his eyes. He was too tired and it took too long for him to sleep at the dorm. He didn't get to sleep for very long either. That seemed to fade in and out and change often. Which he also hated. How was he supposed to figure this out without doing something wrong. Right? He almost felt that he might not be useful. Devan was different, and Caelan had that part of him that was held back. All thanks to whatever this crap was really about.
He would just keep on trying not to think of this. |

'This was a really bad idea...I knew I shouldn't have snuck him out here..' Melanie thought to herself while rubbing her right arm vigorously. The nights were getting warmer, but it was still a bit chilly outside. It didn't help that she'd decided to head out in her pajamas, as if that had been the better idea. It was dark, and the only light she had was the flashlight app on her smart phone. It worked alright, but there was just no way she was going to be able to see through this thick tree cover.
"Martie~" She whispered, just loud enough for it to be heard by the ears of her puppy if he was nearby. Before she could speak once more the girl whistled, willing to try anything to get the attention of her dog without making too much noise. She knew the curfew policy at this school was very strict, and for good reason. She feared getting in trouble of course, not only for breaking curfew, but for having a pet in her dorm room.
However, she felt she had a particular advantage given the fact that she was a hunter. Melanie was at least aware of what dangers to look for. Regardless of her unwillingness to become a full fledged hunter like her parents, she had still been drilled since birth. For this very reason she steered clear of the Night Class dorm area, and kept towards their own side, however being lost in the woods like this it was becoming difficult to tell what was what.
Walking around like this by herself was creepy, and while missing her dog she feared that he'd be lost forever. "Martie, here boy." She called out to him once more, whistling as she'd done before but still getting no response.

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need The boy didn't even care, yes he should probably go back to his dorm, but like that'd happen. For awhile he'd rather just shrug this off. It might not end up meaning very much either. He was probably not in the best spot for this stuff. For a moment he wondered what he could end up doing. What was he supposed to do? How was he supposed to handle this. It might just end up making a few bad places for him. Caelan didn't think that anyone would be there. Or any animal for that matter, but the animal was just suddenly there. And he blinked, looking up at the dog like creature. What was a dog doing here? Much less why was it bugging him. For now he'd rather be off on his own. Somehow. The boy only grumbled as the whistling met his ears. Caelan wanted a nice time to himself. To get rid of his thoughts. If he broke down then heck it only proved he was human. But someone prevented that. Another person perhaps. Either way he'd rather just not deal with it. Maybe he could make them all go away.
It seemed as if he was not turning back to normal. At least not for the moment, he had a feeling this was not going to be a good thing. Or a bad thing either. But it wasn't likely to be very positive now that he might be thinking about it clearly. Right now he almost didn't know what he'd end up finding. Or who would be there either, seriously this was one of those very awkward moments. Very very awkward indeed. Yet he didn't even know what to say. Or how to go about any of this either. What could he say? For a moment he felt as if something not so great was actually going to happen here with this. Caelan had been lost in his thoughts. Of Devan, of everything else. Of being basically alone in his memories. And now he just reached over to pick the dog up by it's collar if it had one. But the animal dodged his hand and fled into the woods. Where was it going now?
Should he follow? Maybe not. Let the whistling chick do it. Caelan almost didn't care, it'd probably get snatched if the vampires were roaming around though. So he got up and grumbled, rubbing the back of his neck. Trying to ignore how sore his neck felt at this point. "Oi you are missing the dog right? Yea he ran off further into the forest, he's probably lost now." He should help, Caelan thought. But what good was he? He barely knew what to do. At this moment it probably wasn't going to actually help apparently. For now. With a small growl he wondered what he'd get into at this moment in time. Seriously just what was he thinking, being out here. He was supposed to be working or in some form of it. But that was also not so important.
He only leaned against the tree. Waiting and watching. She had to say something, if she didn't jump out of her skin or run off. He didn't mean to scare anyone but still. Girls were so easily influenced. |

Melanie stopped dead in her tracks, having thought that she'd heard the faint jingle of her dog's collar and dog tags in the distance. Though even as she stopped she still heard nothing in return. Not a bark or a single howl. That dog was going to be in so much trouble when she got a hold of him -whether it was mostly her fault he'd gotten away or not.
She picked up her pace, enough that it was a little quicker than a speed walk, and headed in the direction she'd hearing the jingling dog tags. The sudden sound of a male's voice though, quickly caught her off guard. She gasped, instinctively reared back and swung a fist at the person before actually checking to see who it was. It had been force of habit to react this way after the many years of her brother trying to scare her in the dark. Later on she realized it was just another way to trick her into practicing her fighting, but it had become a habit she couldn't easily shake. |

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need This girl was annoying, she had always been. More or less, and he'd rather not dig into that. Basically. Just what was it going to get into? He almost wondered what this girl wanted. She had appeared out of nothing looking for her dog. Then Caelan gave her instructions about how to find her dog. Basically. So what was he going to do? Flip her over and so on. That sounded good to him, and when she punched him that was exactly what happened. He would not hurt her, Caelan just caught her fist and flipped her onto the ground. Onto the soft ground instead of the trees. After all it was better off not hurting her wasn't it?
"The heck are you trying to do woman! You don't just attack people. If someone wanted you hurt you'd never get the chance. You clearly need to think." He huffed, and just grumbled. Caelan was not in the mood for this. All of it seemed to be really annoying. Yet he'd rather not end up dealing with it in some weird way. Already this had gone so far out of his comfort zone. And he'd rather not deal with it again anyway. Basically. For now he'd rather just try to get out of here, then go back to his room. Or get wasted. Nah he was too pure for that. Well as pure as a murderer could be.
He just grumbled at her, and rolled his eyes. He was already annoyed with this. What was he supposed to do? It'd probably not end up mattering in the long run either right? So for now he'd just have to figure it out. And wonder what he's going to do. This girl needed to like go away or something. That was all, he'd rather not end up dealing with someone else right now. He was still upset over the Devan thing.
His frustration and anger became visible away from Devan. |

She hadn't been thinking when she through the punch towards the sound of the voice, however feeling a hand grab her wrist caused her to snap out of that dazed state of pure instinct and reintroduced her to reality; which, inevitably was met with her back to the ground. Melanie gasped sharply, before a small unintended squeak escaped her as she hit the ground. It slightly forced the air from her chest but it had only, for the most part, startled her.
Melanie blinked, her eyes adjusting to the lighting without her phone to help, realizing then that she was staring up at an actual boy. A really cute boy. She quickly pushed herself up to stand dusting herself off and raking her fingers through her hair to get leaves and grass out as much as possible so she didn't look like a complete mess. "S-sorry I didn't know that there'd be anyone else out here, besides maybe Devan."
Presently she hadn't yet realized who she was talking to, only having heard of Caelan from her friend, and otherwise being fairly uninformed as a whole. Melanie turned around and reached for her phone, making sure that it wasn't scratched or cracked, before lifting the light to the boy's face. When she noticed the badge on his arm, her eyes grew wide. "Caelan??" She knew that there were only a couple prefects, the only other besides Devan was Caelan.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to swing at you, just instinct I guess. Are you on patrol right now? Where's Devan?" She spoke too quickly for her own good at times, and didn't give him enough opportunity to answer her until she'd stopped talking. Melanie looked passed and around him, searching for the tall brunette that wasn't there. |

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan didn't even know this darn girl. What the heck did she want? Or why was she even trying to get in his way. This was so annoying. Caelan didn't even know what to do with her. He had been waiting, trying to figure something out at the very least. But would it matter? Would it do anything? Nope. He had a feeling this in general was a stupid idea. Trying to get some relaxation without people being around constantly. But that'd just be too easy wouldn't it? What could he do? This just didn't seem good for him. Maybe he'd get into trouble. If he was too rough with her or something along those lines. Not exactly his best idea in the whole world at this moment in time. But he'd leave it alone. All he did was keep glancing back at her. The heck was she on.
"What Devan? The heck are you talking about? You shouldn't even be out here right now. Not exactly a good place to be." He grumbled as he spoke, this was not a good place to be. People needed to realize that. Mostly. But of course people were clueless, they never realized those things. And it frustrated him but Caelan let his temper go away for a moment. Since it was all he could really do at this point. Nothing else really mattered did it? This girl really what did she want besides her little bratty puppy that had wandered further into the woods. Caelan didn't even want to help her look right now. But he probably would anyway, maybe.
He only rolled his eyes again and glanced at her. "What? You should just go back to the dorm, the puppy will wander back soon enough." He turned away from her. Maybe time he went back to his patrol. She could go back and play with Devan. She seemed to know him, and Caelan didn't have a damn clue who this stupid girl was. She even knew who he was. That was something he didn't want. He'd rather just leave, and make her go away at that. But like it'd end up working. Girls were annoying and stubborn.
More then he was. |

Melanie lowered her flashlight from his features after he turned away from her, a small frown appearing in her expression as he did so. What was with the attidude? Wasn't he supposed to be protecting the Day class? She had expected him to lecture her, but he seemed to be more lax than even Devan. When he mentioned her puppy though, it had been enough of a distraction to move the conversation to other matters.
"You saw him?? Where did he go?" Melanie looked at either side of them, but she couldn't hear anything. It bothered her to think that she'd have to ask Caelan for help when he seemed to be in such a terrible mood, but it was part of his responsibility right, and as long as he wasn't going to tattle on her then she'd feel much better. Mel stepped toward, looping her arm through Caelan's and leaning on him so she could peek around to get a better look at his face. He was just as Devan had described, stubborn, cool. She was still waiting to see the relaxed side to him, but maybe that was just Devan bragging.
"Please help me find him? I won't tell the headmaster you were slacking off on the job if you disregard the fact that I'm breaking curfew...and incidentally brought a pet here." She smiled timidly, hoping to encourage his forgiving side at least, knowing that no matter what she'd still need his help. It was better to have two pairs of eyes after all.
"My names Melanie. You are Caelan right? You sure act like him. Devan used to talk about you all the time. My parents are friends with his." It was safe to say then, that she was a hunter too without her actually needing to say it out loud. She assumed that Caelan would be able to tell anyway, with how relaxed she was to be walking around here all by herself.

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan tried to let his attitude fade, and go back to normal. But he wanted to just forget, he didn't even give a crap about anything. Why would he? Yes he had emotions, but the blue haired hunter hated them. He only focused on his work these days when Devan wasn't around. The boy tried to give a small smile though he didn't when he wasn't looking at her. He just wanted to get her out of here, so she could go back to the dorms. He already did his thing. Caelan was pulling the weight of a lot of people. If he screwed up then students died. And that truly was the last thing he wanted. What could he do? Caelan felt like he just needed to get her back to the dorms with that damn puppy. Before other people showed, like the vampires for that matter.
But for now he'd rather just end up letting her go on her own way. Right now it'd probably not end up helping either. So what was he supposed to do? At this moment he felt a it awkward, as if it'd do him any good. Right now he was just supposed to help another student apparently. "Yea that way. He went into the woods after getting scared." He just shrugged a bit this wasn't so bad. And yet he'd rather not end up dealing with it. But of course he'd take her to the place where her dog went. So she'd at least be able to find him. Simple really. At this moment he didn't know entirely what to say. The girl was strange to little Caelan.
"Alright fine. I'm not slacking off though I finished up my rounds." He stopped talking after that, his sentences were coming short again. Yet he'd not entirely know what to do about this stuff anyway. It already made him feel awkward to know he had to help a girl. Much less a friend of Devan's. Just perfect when he thought he'd get away from Devan it somehow appeared again to bite him in the behind really hard. Which he hated seriously. This was already something he wanted to forget basically. And yet he'd rather not end up dealing with this. More or less he had a feeling it might be confusing to begin with.
"Yea. So he used to huh. Oh I see." His sentences were going back to being really small as he just moved to help her look for her puppy. He didn't even flinch when she touched his arm, at least it was a delayed reaction. He could only look at her when he realized it. But then he went to just keep on walking. It might not end up doing him any good either. At least at this moment. He didn't even need to guess, she was another hunter. It made him wonder how close Devan was to her, but he didn't say anything about it after that. |

"Uh huh." She retorted as he mentioned having finished his rounds already. Melanie wasn't so sure she believed him, considering how large the school really was, but perhaps it was simply because he was far more used to things like this than she was. She met him at his side, before glancing out in the direction he'd pointed. The girl worried for her dog, but she wasn't nearly as fearful that he wouldn't turn up. Her puppy was smart and she was very confident that he'd come back to her once they were close enough.
As Caelan started to move so did she, a bit surprised actually that he was even letting her cling onto him like this. From what Devan had told her he didn't seem to the type to be tolerant of being messed with like this, but perhaps it was just misinformation or something. She brushed it off and held her phone out with her free hand so they'd be able to see. Absently she noticed how pleasant Caelan smelled, and even though it was probably rude of her to be invading in this boy's personal space, she couldn't turn down the opportunity to walk around with such a handsome upperclassman.
"Mhmm. I haven't heard from Dev in a while though. I assumed it was because he's sick right?" She said in the form of a question directed towards Caelan, as she wasn't entirely sure herself. Her parents mentioned it, but she wasn't given full details. "I was honestly surprised when I heard that he actually transferred so quickly when he wasn't feeling well. He's such a lazy jerk when he's sick." The girl shuddered at the mere thought of trying to get him to stop whining when she was little. Texting may have been knew to her then, but having Devan as a friend had made her want to quit it altogether.
"Is that why you're out here by yourself? Because you're covering for Devan?"

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He knew his ways around the school, and where most of the people went. After all Caelan wasn't the only hunter in this school. Devan was the only hunter off duty right now for reasons. But no one needed to know that. Simply put really now that he was thinking about. This girl clinging to him however should have made him uncomfortable. Yet he was so out of it right now he barely noticed, he just wanted to find her dog and go. Get away, get back to his life. Something. After all he had a lot of stuff he wanted to forget. If that made any sense so far he thought it would. If he had even voiced it. Which was so not gonna happen. Caelan never voiced his worries, it just caused problems. So he almost completely ignored the girl as they started to look for her dog.
Just where was her dog? What did she want to bring it here for. People might report her. Or the dog would get eaten. Vampires didn't entirely care about people, or anything. Simple. They would not respect her feelings. And Caelan knew that from personal experience. He wanted to shove her off so bad, and yet he wasn't even thinking about it. Go figure. What could he end up doing? For a moment this seemed so confusing. Caelan's thoughts were drifting now between so many different things basically. "Yea maybe...he's getting better though. He'll be back on duty soon enough I guess. "He just shrugged his shoulders then wondered what he'd end up getting into.
He had agreed to help her yes. But that was as far as he'd go right now. He'd rather not end up getting into anything else. Not his life, not Devan's. Let her go ask Devan if she wanted to know so badly. Pretty much. He only sighed a bit and whistled for the puppy dog. Where would her puppy go? It might not end up mattering but still he wanted to find the dog. Just to send her on her way. "Well it was cause of me probably.Who knows. The school is safe for him." He was being vague on his responses. As Caelan always was these days. Couldn't be that much of a shock really.
He would only flinch for a second, then give a small nod and keep walking. Not saying a single word. What was he going to do? She kept bringing up Devan and it was bothering him. But he'd have to at least talk to her a little bit. |

Melanie tilted her head at his flat answers. He seemed much more distant than Devan lead her to believe. Had he been lying? That stupid moron talked about this boy so much, it was hard for them to have a conversation that didn't involve Caelan at some point. Though she did think he was really handsome, Mel was almost disappointed that he seemed to be in such an off mood. She assumed then that it was perhaps because he was tired. It was late after all, and he had probably been out here for a while on his own.
Hearing him whistle brought her back to the task at hand, and secretly made her feel special. He was actually helping her, and the thought that he might be concerned for her or her dog made her feel much more welcome than she had a moment ago while he'd practically been grumbling at her. "Martiee!" Melanie called out, before bringing her attention to Caelan once more.
"Your fault? How would it be your fault? Were you sick too?" It was clear then that she hadn't been told all the details. Her parents consistently reenforced the idea into her head that she was going to become a hunter. It was what they wanted for her, however with what they'd heard about Devan and Cael, they worried that if they pushed her too hard than something might also happen to her as well. So they laid off, and this was where it got her: attending a school full of vampires.
"Do you really think it's safe?" Melanie was curious what his opinion would be. She didn't fear for her own safety here at all, but seeing as how Caelan wasn't just well known between her and Devan's family, it interested her to know what the boy genius would say.

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He had his reasons, Caelan wouldn't get close to people again. Not after what happened last time he did, the boy only knew how to force emotions he wasn't even sure he had right now. What could he do? for a moment he'd rather just not get dragged back into those memories. Forgetting was already hard enough though he'd never admit any of that at this moment. What would be the point of that? For now he just wanted to help her find her dog so she'd go away. Simple thought right there really. Though it'd probably not end up mattering. With a small sigh he wished he'd be able to forget, or push things off. But like it'd work. That would just make things way too easy. Caelan had already been more then aware of that more or less. But what was he even supposed to do? At this moment it'd probably not end up changing anything. He was already more then aware of how awkward his life was. Or how negative his life could end up becoming at this point really.
Just how was he supposed to accept or explain things? For now he'd rather keep it all to himself. Probably for the best, it'd only end up getting really bad if he wasn't careful. More or less this was just how awkward his life had become once again. Basically, he'd learn how to deal with this. Somehow. This girl though she had pushed his buttons a little more then he liked. And yet he'd rather just shrug it off. Though would it matter. Perhaps not, so for now he'd rather just shrug this off. Deal with it in some form. They needed to find her dog so she could back to her own life or something. Back to the dorms and away from him. Devan stung him enough without realizing it he didn't need to add someone else onto that as well. It'd only end up creating issues for him at this moment in time anyway.
"Not exactly. But it doesn't really matter." He was safe here, the vampires knew the rules. Most of them listened, and Caelan dealt with the people who didn't. Basically. With a small sigh he went back to whistling for the dog. Listening for any noise, any sound that the pet was here. He had to be somewhere after all. Dogs didn't wander off that darn far in this place. "Yea it's not bad here, nothing bad will happen you know. So whatever, just avoid the vampires. Stupid pure bloods." He grumbled as he walked still looking for her dog. Caelan was irritated now, and he hated every single second of this basically. What was he going to do? Right now it probably didn't mean much of anything. This girl had no idea what he felt, or what he knew.
She was just as oblivious as everyone else but his brother. Caelan's brother was the only one who knew about his feelings, or what he thought. |

Perhaps she thought too much of Caelan and Devan, but hearing this boy admit that he thought this place was safe, well it reaffirmed her belief that it was too. Melanie smiled, pleased to hear this response from him, aside from the pureblood comment. She snickered and raised a brow as if challenging his retort before she could even voice her own opinion.
"What, you got something against purebloods? The vampires aren't even scary." Her tone was teasing and lighthearted, for deep down she didn't think that he'd had any run ins with any vampires of that status. They were so few in number, and not even she had seen a pureblood or even heard of one living in her own state until she transferred to Arden. She hadn't heard much about Alastor, but among other things she was honestly surprised that he seemed...well fairly normal in comparison to the fantasy she'd formulated in her own mind about what purebloods looked like.
"Alastor seems nice, and I heard that he helped build this school." It helped that her parents had a habit of picking up the latest gossip. However their opinion of this school wasn't anything like her own, she'd heard enough of the 'hunter news' to drown in it. "I think it's cool. It's about time vampires and humans started getting along. Can you imagine that maybe someday they all might 'come out of the coffin?'"
The girl laughed, amused by her own punny joke regardless of how lame. Vampires and coffins, if only they really did live up to that fictional standard. Then again, if all vampires were as they were portrayed in movies and film, she might actually hate them too. Vampires as they were now were just fine with her, and Melanie would rather keep them that way.

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need This girl was still annoying, but he'd keep his mouth shut. Or it'd get back to Devan which truly was the last thing he needed right now. He didn't want to deal with people, much less her. At that moment he wondered if her dog was already dead or something. He couldn't be sure. But of course the boy would rather not dig into this stuff. He wanted to just get her out of here then go on his own way. That was all. Why did she have to bring this up? He hated pure bloods so much. Why wouldn't he? The boy was not one to want to deal with it. He wanted to just kill the one who hurt Devan. Which was not Alastor. So at least Al was on his good list for the moment. For now. "I just don't like them, so it doesn't matter. You can't trust any of them." He didn't know what to say. After all Alastor was weird. And he didn't know how to handle this sort of stuff either. How could he? The boy was already not in the mood for any of this stuff. Why would he be?
He would not change his mind. There was no reason to change his mind. At this point he felt that things were not going to go so well for him. He might be in over his head once again. Logically he couldn't be all that surprised really. He felt so frustrated here. And now it'd probably not end up making this any better either. With a small sigh he only kept on walking. She needed to find her darn dog then get out of his hair. Basically. This was all he wanted right now. He completely ignored her for awhile there then he spoke up again. "If you think they aren't dangerous why did you ask if this place was safe?" He had to ask though no he didn't look at her. Why would he? Caelan had no reason too, his mood was off today. Trying to pretend he was happy all the time only worked so much. So right now his mood was slipping a bit and he was exhausted. Worst combination ever to be doing what he was doing.
"Alastor is...different, but he's not that good either." He said with a mumble. He trusted Alastor a little bit but not to much. That was all really. And at this moment he'd rather not get dragged into this stuff. Since it wasn't bound to do either of them any good at this point. This girl was already quite weird, and he was not sure how to take it. Just what could he end up doing? It might not end up helping him really. Now that he thought about it. She seemed to be probing him for information at that. And it was confusing in general. How to handle that? Girls were Devan's thing as much as it ticked Caelan off. "Hah right. Maybe, well if you want them to then you'd be best not to tempt them with food. Maybe they'll come out sooner then you think." He didn't even get why he was going along with this. It shouldn't have mattered. |
