Devan yawned, long and hard, a gesture that had become a habit of his since waking up earlier than noon became a thing. He wasn't used to school, or being around so many kids their own age for that matter, but he was glad that the headmaster -considering his injuries- was letting him rest in his dorm for a couple of days after Devan mistakenly thought that he was well enough to go to class on his own. Admittedly, he felt as if he were on house arrest because of it, but the look on Mr. Hall's face when he said that he could handle it just fine..it was too horrifying for him to want to see it again. Turning over onto his side, Devan mulled over the idea of getting up so he could help Caelan with his things. He'd still been far too lazy to take care of his own, but they'd been here for two days already and he didn't necessarily want to keep living out of his suit cases. "Need any help?" He asked casually, secretly hoping that Caelan would just say yes, giving into his need to be active and giving him real permission to get out of bed. At this point, Devan was looking for any small excuse. "You don't wanna be unpacking all by yourself do you?" Yes, he was really laying it on thick. If Caelan looked over at him, his expression would read just how desperate he was to be granted some form of permission to get up. After getting lectured by the headmaster even on his very first day, it was evident that Devan still didn't entirely understand the meaning of authority. @ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan had been silent again lately, keeping to himself. Maybe it could be blamed on a new school he didn't even want to be at. Or it was something else. Either way nobody would know, he refused to tell them. It'd only end up getting him hurt again. And he spent enough nights up without sleep because of the things going through his head. But he had learned to handle it. That whole being a hunter thing made it a lot easier for him to deal with. For now he was just unpacking the room, digging through Devan's things and his own. He just wanted to see what all Devan had. He'd been hiding a lot of things under his bed. Devan wouldn't bother to look under Caelan's bed knowing Cae would kill him. And Caelan would just fix it all after Devan was in the shower or sleeping.
"Hm..help. You should be in bed still so I don't think so." He only rolled his eyes, and wondered what to do. He wasn't looking directly at Devan. So why would he care? Let him do whatever, make that look or not. He would not be allowed to get out of the bed. Not right now. After all who knew when the people were coming around, and trying to bug him. "Devan...if you want to help go through the suit case with your clothes in them. You can put them in the dresser." He would only agree because that meant not moving around much. Caelan didn't even take time off for his injuries, he got questions. But he blamed it on swimming.
They were nothing compared to his emotional wounds, and Devan's physical ones. He just wanted to forget. He wished he could forget too. If Caelan forgot then it'd be okay again, but he always talked himself out of it too. He didn't want to forget his good memories with Devan, even if Devan already had. He just went back to sorting things and throwing stuff away. Making sure it made it into the trash can. Looking at the memories he was finding, Caelan just tried to ignore it. Shoving them under his bed again.
"I could handle it by myself..." Just like he did everything these days. He did not ask for help, Devan couldn't even hunt anymore. So Caelan had to do that too all by himself. So he was beginning to accept all of this. Even if he might not want to. Devan was still so important to him. |

Caelan was avoiding eye contact with him, again. This was becoming some sort of habit with him lately and even though Devan hadn't mentioned it before, it was starting to get on his nerves. Caelan had changed, the atmosphere between them had been a bit awkward, if not distant since that thing that happened with the vampire on their last hunt. He didn't want to revisit that conversation, after Devan had already put it to rest in his mind. However, he could only wonder if Caelan had been scared so much that he'd thought that they weren't going to make it alive. Perhaps that was why he seemed so tense. Devan didn't want to keep reassuring Caelan, after he'd already told him that he was sorry and he wouldn't let it happen again. He was certain that his friend knew how he felt, and Devan was never insincere, especially not about something like that. So he kept his mouth shut about it, and tried to distract the boy with other things, like conversation about school or their parents, in an attempt to cheer Caelan up. Though deep down he couldn't help but feel like none of what he was doing was really working. Even though Caelan didn't turn to look at him, when he finally gave in a little and said that he could help a smile spread across his features. He sat up in bed and even though it still hurt his midsection like no other, he toughed through it and pushed himself up to stand. While he walked over to drag his suitcase from the foot of his bed he looked up and watched as Caelan through away things carelessly into the trash, and ducked under his bed once again. Devan had seen him do this several times already, and being human he couldn't help his curiosity. "What is it that you keep hiding under there? Trying to keep stuff from me?" Devan smirked jokingly, not realizing just how accurate an assumption that may have been. "You know, if you have some sort of secret you can tell me. It's not like I know anyone at this school yet, and I wouldn't tell anyway." He was confident in himself to know that he wouldn't tattle. When it came to matters between them, it would stay between them. After all, Devan hadn't even told their parents the full story of what happened during their last hunt. @ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Right now he barely knew how to face Devan, after all he remembered things his ex didn't. Or at least he said he was the ex. They couldn't still date it only one remembered. Logically it didn't work out that way. Even if he had wanted it to that was just not going to happen. He tried to act normal, sometimes it just fell through and he hated it. But what was he supposed to do? Pretend none of it happened. Like that'd even work. Caelan couldn't forget things that easily, and he hated vampires too much to ask them to wipe his memories. He didn't want to end up without them like Devan. But they stung him a lot, mostly when he was alone. Or watching Devan from a distance. Since he still worked most nights it happened sometimes. Though he'd never tell Devan that.
Caelan did try to keep his smiles around Devan. But it was hard. Had always been now that he was thinking about. Ever since that incident he couldn't look at things the same. Or always be happy. It just didn't work. Devan could have died that day even if Caelan showed up. He was useless, and he hated it. And now Devan forgot what they were. That had become obvious. What made it worse was Caelan had figured out why. Someone knew they were dating. Someone on the council had figured it out, and this was the end result. So he'd be better off putting distance between them later. Like when they left this school.
He only shook his head, then focused back on his work. He was tossing out scraps of paper after ripping them up. This wasn't so bad, yet it might not be good either. Now that he was thinking about it. Seriously just what might he be getting into at this point in time. At the moment Caelan had a feeling this was bad, Devan wanted to know what was under there. Just old pictures and various crap. He'd probably hide most of it in a safer place later. Somewhere Devan wouldn't find it. Memories were dangerous things after all. Devan would be better off not remembering any of that.
Or he might really die next time. "It's not...that kind of secret. Really it's not a secret, you just don't need to know. Devan clean up. you are almost done with the clothes aren't you?" He asked as he tilted his head and gazed towards him. What was he going to do? This might not matter, yet he also felt a bit confused. Caelan wanted to say he loved Devan still. But no it wasn't going to work, as far as he was concerned. "Devan...? Nevermind." He only shook this off, he didn't want to deal with this. Not at all. |

The sound of ripping paper, and more things being thrown away. This shouldn't have worried him, but it did very much so. Caelan was acting erratic in Devan's eyes and he didn't know what was wrong with him. However, Caelan being as stubborn as he was, wasn't about to tell Devan a thing. It annoyed him slightly that his best friend couldn't tell him what was what, though even he didn't want to push too hard knowing that it would just create more tension. When Caelan looked over at him Devan felt his heart sink like as if he'd just gotten one of those stern looks from his parents, and quickly fumbled with the suit case in front of him so he'd look like he was actually doing something other than just staring at Cael this whole time. "Y-yea of course I am. Tch." He replied, but he had just opened the suitcase and had obviously not even began putting his things away. Devan lifted his bag onto his bed, with some effort, as he stifled the pain and managed to merely set his jaw in response, before letting it go leaning against the edge of his mattress. It wasn't even that heavy but he knew he shouldn't have tried to pick it up afterwards. He ran his hand over his stomach, feeling over where it hurt the most while his back was turned to his friend -until he heard him speak that is. Devan glanced over his shoulder, forcing his shoulders, and expression to relax. He was about to ask Caelan what he needed until the boy dismissed himself with a quick 'nevermind'. Devan made another note at how weird Cael was acting, frowning slightly as he turned his cheek once more and stared down into his open suitcase. He still chose not to pry. His hand fell from his side, while he reached out carefully and grabbed a handful of his shirts. None of them were folded well, and as he opened his dresser drawer and stuffed them inside haphazardly they were even less neat than they'd been while inside of his luggage. "I wonder when the headmaster is gonna let me patrol at night. You just got here too. I'd be bored as hell if I had to walk around the school at night by myself." He said, sitting on the edge of his bed once more, feeling 'exhausted' already. He'd left his dresser drawer open, and since Caelan was making it a habit of not looking at him he figured he could get away with being even more lazy than usual. Devan reached into his suitcase, balled up a couple of shirts in his hand, and tossed them into the open dresser drawer as if it were a basket ball hoop. This served as his form of entertainment while Caelan was distracted. Though as he picked up a rolled pair of jeans, this time he missed and the unfolded on the floor. However, the sound that emitted wasn't just the sound of fabric clunking to the floor. "What the hell." Devan scoffed, not thinking much of it as he peeked around and saw that there were a handful of pictures that had sprawled out on the floor from the jeans. He didn't ever remember putting anything inside of his clothes before. He stood up slowly, and walked over to the mess. "Were you hiding stuff in my clothes too? Jeez Caelan what sort of secret are you keeping that requires it to be hidden so well?" He chuckled, kneeling down to pick up one of the pictures that had fallen. @ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He only listened to him, letting Devan talk. It really didn't matter to him after all why would it? He had other things going through his mind. Like how Devan didn't remember. Caelan only forced a small laugh, then glanced around. What could he do? It might not get him anywhere but escaping anyway didn't help. So what was he going to do. Right now he might be in some other form of danger. Perhaps. Though he'd rather just not deal with it anyway. He was always stubborn. Why wouldn't he be? He had a lot of reasons for this short of thing. Basically. Though Caelan wanted to keep things hidden for as long as he could right now. That was all. It'd probably not end up helping if he dwelled on this way too too much. Caelan never had luck with hiding things when they started dating. But now was it even different? Devan still knew him very well. And that made it complicated, perhaps painful to pretend things didn't happen. Or he wasn't truly hiding anything from Devan.
"Good I wanna get this done so we can go out to eat." He felt hungry, and his stomach wanted to grumble. But no he didn't let it show. For now he'd keep it to himself. Hoping it might not be so bad at the very least. Perhaps he was just not in the right state of mind. Devan might break down his walls sooner or later. But if he got away from the other he'd be able to build them back up again. Which was what he needed. "Oh please don't tch me, I just wanna get out of here." He had a feeling Devan might want to as well. But with Devan hurt they'd have to go slow and not get caught. So that was just how this was. No getting away from it really. Now that he might be dwelling on this stuff anyway. The stuff under his bed was private, and he didn't need someone looking into it at least for now.
"Soon enough probably? If you at least stay in bed." With a small sigh he only smiled over at him. He was trying to be happy right now, at the very least. What was he going to do? It might not end up helping him much either. Perhaps he needed to shake this off maybe. He didn't want Devan to get closer, or go back to hunting basically. That was pretty much what it was. So what was he going to do? Perhaps. Rather then this, he'd rather just shrug this off in some better way. It might not be so bad for him. At the moment anyway. He stopped as he heard something fall to floor. He only glanced at him then looked around. Wondering what he was going to do? Right now it might not matter. "Devan, what did you dro-?" He was caught off guard, and barely knew where to go with this. Why why why? Why did he have to find something.
"I-I guess I was. I'll just put those way." He ran over, and just went to look at them. What was he supposed to do. Right now this might not end up doing him any good. Right now he tried to pick up all those pictures. Trying to fix them, and then put them away. Till he noticed Devan holding one. "Devan give that to me now! it's not for you, it's...mine okay. They must have been thrown in your suitcase." He felt his chest start to hurt again. Why couldn't he just let him remember. But then he reminded himself that Devan would die if he didn't keep this from him. Almost like he did before. |

Devan stood up with the picture in his hand, looking it over a bit confused. He was completely ignoring Caelan, even as the boy rushed over to pick up the rest. "I don't remember taking this." He said, frowning as he thought hard. The picture looked like it was taken during the summer. Last summer? It wasn't anything of suspect. It was just a picture of the two of them with Devan's face smooshed against Cael's. It was a bit funny actually, but for some reason he just couldn't place the scene from the picture in his memory. Devan smiled as he looked down at it, amused by the expression on Caelan's features in the image, and the obvious redness in his cheeks. Though as he lifted his eyes to the real Caelan, he was suddenly so different. "Why are you shouting? Calm down." He said, words faintly laced with hinted laughter. "How could these have been yours when they were stuffed in myyy jeans?" His remark was insinuating his disbelief, all while faintly teasing the boy. Noticing that Caelan had taken the other pictures in his hand, Devan raised an eye brow and held the picture in his hand tighter, paranoid that Cael would still try to take it from him. "These aren't yours they're mine. Why should I give them to you huh?" He took a step back waited for the boy to retaliate. "Let me see the rest. I don't remember when these were taken." He wondered if perhaps by looking at the others it might spark a memory. He could be forgetful at times, and over the most random things. @ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan wasn't in the mood for this, what was he supposed to do? Devan found one of the pictures. Why. What. It wasn't supposed to happen this way. And he'd rather not deal with that. Pretty much. He just wished that male would go away. Or at least, not think much of this. Though it might not do him a lot of good either. With a small sigh he only reached his hand out to it again. "Just give it here dammit! Come on Devan, I must have mixed stuff up." He didn't want to yell at Devan anymore. It'd probably not end up helping. Though right now he wanted the picture back. Hopefully he'd get them back, even though it might not do him a lot of good either. At this point he probably wasn't in the right state of mind, his mind was hurting. Like a headache might be forming suddenly. "I put them in the wrong suitcase! Give them back please Devan." That was all he wanted, this probably might not matter.
But still he wanted that stuff back. He wanted his picture back so he could just hide the rest of them. Like he'd basically done with everything else. This probably didn't matter very much did it. With a small laugh, he tried to pretend he wasn't nervous. Being nervous or shy was actually his thing. But he'd rather not end up talking about that. Since it'd probably just end up causing him a few issues. "Because dammit! Just give them to me Devan! Please!" He was trying to get his attention, trying to get him to give the pictures back. But Devan seemed so set on holding onto that one. He just tucked the other ones in his jacket pockets and zipped it up. That'd keep them away from his ex, Devan no longer knew they dated. So he had to do this for Devan's sake only.
"No I won't! You want to keep that one so damn bad fine. I'm outta here!" He felt his cheeks suddenly become wet as he looked at Devan. He just quickly turned the other direction so Devan couldn't see. With that he was racing out of the room, leaving his room keys, leaving everything but his phone. He just ran to the pool, and completely ignored anything and anyone. He would just keep taking off. When he finally got the pool he stuffed his jacket in the locker that he made sure to lock after changing into his suit. Caelan only laughed, he was too amused. And this was just way too much hurt for him. But Caelan only settled down on the edge of the pool and gave a small laugh. "...well hey he has something to tease me about now. It's almost like he used to be before...." He slipped into the water after saying that, trying to swim around for a little while.
Devan finding that picture had really bothered him. So what was he supposed to say about this? |

Devan chuckled, amused by Caelan's reaction, and not yet seeing the sincerity in his words. "Hmmm." He hummed to himself as he leaned back as Caelan moved towards him again. He was far taller than the boy before him, and it didn't take much effort to keep him off, regardless of the fact that he was still injured. He knew that Cae wouldn't cheap shot him in his ribs where it would hurt. "If you can reach it I'll give it back." Raising the picture in his right hand, he held it just out of Caelan's reach, wondering if he'd actually try. Though as he continued to yell again, and Devan realized that he was getting more and more angry he froze. After his last outburst, Devan was left blinking and taken aback. What had he done wrong? "Hey!..wait!" He called out, hoping to stop the boy from running away any further but he'd been ignored. After Caelan left he mentally kicked himself for pushing him too far. He hadn't meant for him to get that mad. "I was just kidding.." Devan muttered to himself, now left in the quiet of his room. He brought the picture down to his features, looking it over once more. He was still unsure of when it was when it was taking. Caelan had been so attached and angry over it though that it must have meant something to him. Huffing an exasperated sigh, he glared at the picture and tossed it onto his bed. "Stupid picture." He was in trouble with his best friend because of it, and the only way he knew how to make up for it at the moment was to clean up. It was the least he could do, even if he absolutely, positively detested the idea. Caelan might not be so angry if he came back and their room was somewhat clean. It took him around thirty minutes to officially give up. He shoved most of his clothes into his dresser, but the rest that he couldn't fit properly he simply tossed back into his suitcase and kicked it under his bed. After leaving their room in search of Caelan, he had an idea of where he might be, but still wasn't entirely sure. The first place he had to check, was most definitely the pool. Casually he walked to the main building, then to the floor where the pool resided. The school was a lot bigger than he thought it'd be, and he nearly got lost a few times just trying to find the place, but after stealing another campus map from the front desk he'd managed to find it soon enough. Quietly walking inside the locker room, he peeked around for signs of his friend before heading to the entrance to the pool. The sounds of trickling water were present, but he wasn't sure it was Caelan until he walked out and around to the side of the pool. A small smile appeared in his features as he watched the boy for a moment. He crossed his arms over his chest and thought through his words before speaking. "I knew you'd be here. The pool is pretty nice huh? I thought it'd be a decent incentive to get you to come."@ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He wanted the darn picture back, he would not let his friend take it. Or keep it. What the heck was he supposed to do? Right now he felt that he might not be in the right state of mind either. Perhaps he was dwelling on this sort of stuff way too much apparently. With a small sigh he had tried to calm down. Then he took off. With that he was gone, and off to other places. Places he'd rather not be. Actually he liked the pool but still. He didn't want it back. No he'd rather just focus on something else right now. But it'd probably not help. Seriously just what was he going to do. With a small groan he wondered why he felt so weird. The pool was supposed to be his comfort zone. But even after swimming for a few hours he found no comfort in any of this. None at all. Why did this have to end that way? Devan didn't remember but Caelan did and it stung so much. "I-I don't even know what to do anymore. My boyfriend doesn't remember me that way." What was he supposed to do, it made him feel really strange.
Right now he felt as if he was confused. And lost. Seriously just what was he supposed to say, for all he knew he'd mess up all over again. Which was seriously not wanted in any form either by now. How could he handle this? It might not end up doing him a lot of good. Sighing lightly he just pushed his head back down under the water. This was making him feel a bit better, as much as he didn't entirely like it. Right now he was not entirely sure where to go about all of this, perhaps he needed to shrug it off completely. Groaning low in his throat, he tried his best not to let water get in his throat. Getting hurt was not something he wanted so he just moved to swim to the edge and pull his body out of the water. He did feel really sick right now, his stomach was twisting every which way. He wanted to start crying but it wouldn't happen.
He refused to let it happen. At least for now. "I guess." He spoke hearing Devan's voice. Though he wasn't looking at him, right now he'd rather shake this off. Somehow. Perhaps he needed to do this some other way. Yet he felt like he might not be in the right state of mind either. What was he going to do? He didn't entirely know where to go. Or how to take this. Devan was still so important to him. And he'd rather not lose his boyfriend. This person might not remember him, but he still loved him. He still wanted to keep him close. And never end up letting go of him. That was all right now, at least he thought that was all. But maybe he was just wrong.
"I guess it was, so what are you doing?" The headmaster would not be happy if he was wandering around. That was for sure. But Caelan almost didn't care right now. His mind was in other places, and it was not in the mood of coming back to reality right now. Maybe because reality only made him mad, so he was waiting for hear Devan's response right now at least. Maybe he had something good to say. |

Caelan still seemed mad, that was made obvious. Devan knew he had to apologize, regardless of how rare it may be for him to do such a thing. In this case, he knew he had done wrong by his friend, and he had to make up for it. "Look, I'm sorry about the picture. I didn't know it was so important to you." It might not have mattered that he was just joking around before, but the least he could so was to let Cael know that he hadn't been trying to get on his nerves. Devan unfolded his arms carefully, lifting his right hand to rub anxiously at the back of his neck. He didn't like this tension between them. It was awkward, and it wasn't just from this recent argument. Caelan had been acting so distant and quiet all week. Devan didn't know what to do about it other than to wade it out and let it pass. He assumed Cae had his reasons to act the way he did. It wasn't his right to bother the boy about it. "You can have the picture if you want."@ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan had been tense for reasons he couldn't talk about, it made him want to break down. Knowing he was that screwed up. If he hadn't asked Devan out that night he'd be okay. But Caelan just dove under the water again to wash those insecurities away. Feeling them drop away, he at least felt a bit better here. This might not be so bad, perhaps it was just life. He swam back up and groaned. The water had rushed through his head a bit too much. He didn't get why this mattered. Yes Caelan wanted to hide things from Devan and he wouldn't say he didn't. But he wouldn't go out of his way to explain this stuff to Devan either. The boy didn't need to know it. When it'd probably just end up hurting his brain. More or less he wished things were back to normal, but his boyfriend would die if he got too close. Which was the last thing he wanted. "Don't worry about it. You just don't understand why, and I don't know how to explain it." He tried to smile again, it was happy. And he didn't reveal it was fake.
"It's just important to me. That's all..." He only tried to keep this calm attitude, well calm and happy. His friend was still important even with the things he forgot. He didn't want to lose those memories, he might already lose everything else. So this was just how he saw it. He'd rather not lose anything, or anyone. Devan already forgot though so technically he had lost that man. Even if he didn't think so. Telling Devan would only get his worries shoved aside. Or Get Devan killed. That was not something he wanted to dig into by this point. Like seriously not at all, if he wanted to think about it. Seriously just what was he going to do.
"Fine...just give it back later then. And don't dig around in my stuff. Look I'm sorry it's just..a complicated matter."He wished he could explain it but maybe Devan would remember on his own. Caelan's chest hurt now, and he struggled to get out of the water. Pulling his body up he just flopped down on the ground by the pool and let the water drip off of his body. He didn't seem to even be as active in his swimming either. He just had seemed to be going through the motions. Maybe he was tired, more then he thought by this point.
He wondered what Devan would think? What he even wanted by this whole situation. |

"When did you get so sentimental?" He smirked, trying to keep the atmosphere light still. Though truthfully he didn't remember Caelan being this attached to any physical object. It was odd, but he didn't want to question it too much, afraid that he'd just offend the boy again and cause them to get into another fight. If it was just important to Cael, than he'd let it go. "Okay." Devan replied simply, nodding once before taking his eyes off of him and setting them to the tiled floor. If those pictures were so important to Caelan, than why were they in his stuff. It still didn't make sense to him. He frowned slightly trying to think about how those things could have gotten in his jeans and why. They were just pictures, so why did they even need to be hidden. Were they taken somewhere they could have gotten in trouble? The background, from what he'd seen, didn't look suspicious. Being unable to ask Caelan about it, he considered these things to himself. Only until he heard his friend pull himself from the pool did he finally return his eyes to the boy. Devan took a couple steps back, giving Caelan his space. His lips parted, tempted to ask the swimmer if he needed any help, as he could tell by the way he moved that he was struggling and having difficulty. When Caelan rested against the tiled floor Devan could see that his chest and parts of his upper body were still bruised from their hunt a few days ago. "I wouldn't dig through your stuff.." To invade his privacy like that just seemed too..intrusive and nosy. Sure Devan was curious what was wrong with his friend, but that didn't mean he was willing to go that far just to find out. "Are you okay? You seem...exhausted."@ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He didn't want to respond to that, it wasn't Devan's business. And really he'd rather just not deal with it. Since it wasn't like he'd get anywhere. With a small groan Caelan rubbed his forehead. It hurt again just slightly though it was not all that bad. He'd be able to ignore it soon enough. Perhaps. That was all he wanted, yet he'd rather keep his mouth shut. Best to not open up that can of worms. It'd only end badly for him to begin with. Caelan more or less ended up knowing that, and he'd rather not think over it too much. He felt majorly worn out still, and this sucked. What was he going to do? More so how the hell was he supposed to handle this? Caelan didn't want to. He'd rather just forget about all of those things, and make them go away.
At least Devan wasn't yelling at him now. Or trying to fight with him. He did not wish to have that happen again. So that was pretty much how this was. More or less, yet he didn't know where entirely to go on this one. He'd just keep focusing on his own thing, if his ex let him. So far it didn't seem to be happening. Go figure he had no luck on that one did he? Perhaps. Either way he was not entirely sure what to say or do at this point. He would move all the stuff he decided to hide, no one would find it again. He'd make sure of that. Though he didn't want to destroy it.
"Good...I just. It's complicated, one day I'll explain it to you." He laughed a bit and tried his best to relax. This was all he could do. Right now he needed to calm down, or well actually not calm down. Because he already felt calm. And this was not something he wanted to think about. Not the drama. Bringing it back up was not something he wanted to end up dealing with right now. At least not for a little while. Either way what was he supposed to do. "I don't know. My body is just really tired today, but I'll be fine. It'll pass in a few hours." He laughed as he said that. Caelan seemed to be better now. Like he was relaxing almost. Yet he didn't know what to do.
This made him feel a little bit confused. |

Devan watched him closely, staring at the smile in his friends features and trying to figure out if he was being genuine or not. He knew that often times Caelan would downplay how he really felt, and he suspected the boy was doing that now as well. It wouldn't be that surprising if he was after all. However, so long as Cael wasn't pushing himself too hard Devan wouldn't pester him about it. Swimming wouldn't hurt the boy, or so Devan assumed. "You sound like my mom." He remarked in reference to the 'belated explanations' comment made by Caelan. What would he be explaining, Devan wondered, though felt no immediate desire to bother Caelan to tell him. He wanted to give him his time, and space, knowing that imposing himself on him now would just create more problems. He coaxed a small smile, to mirror Caelan's, as he stepped forward and awkwardly knelt beside him. It hurt him to try, but he did it nevertheless. "Well, if it makes you feel better I finished straightening up our room." Devan admitted proudly. He wasn't very good at cleaning in general, and it truly was a feat in itself that he'd even mustered up the willingness to organize their room. However, this extra effort was just for Caelan and he wouldn't have done it for anyone else. "I didn't touch most of your things though..I wasn't sure if you'd want me to after you stormed off like that." Surely it would have only angered his friend more if he messed with his stuff. Knowing what he did now he was even more glad that he hadn't. "I think I should feel a bit better next week..maybe I could convince the headmaster to let me go out with you to patrol the campus at night." If it took some stress off of Caelan, it was worth the strain on himself. @ caelan || beware the eyes..he's pulling out 'the look'!
