Devan wavered, trying to keep himself up right despite how difficult it was with his hair in his face and his jacket over his head. He heard Caelan plop down onto his bed, and listened to him sigh a moment later. Devan hated hearing him do that. It made him feel embarrassed, or even worse -as if Caelan was tired of him. "I don't need help, I'm fine." He chimed, warning his friend that he didn't have to get up while he himself began grinding his teeth from the amount of discomfort he was putting in his stomach just from moving like this. Devan was half bent over when Caelan got to him, and before he could protest to a greater degree, the raven haired boy was already helping him out of his jacket. Devan swallowed hard on his groans of pain, preventing them from being dispelled past his lips as he stood up straighter and opened his eyes. His hair was, as he'd expected, a complete mess in front of his face. However he could at least see through bits of his bangs, enough to get a clear picture of Caelan. "I hate it when you sigh at me." He said pulling his jacket from his arms so it would fall to the floor. "It makes me feel.." Devan didn't want to say something stupid, or come off as a total wimp, but he didn't have a word that fit how exactly it made him feel. "..weird." So he'd settle with that. Turning his eyes from Caelan, Devan pulled off the shirt that he'd worn underneath his jacket, as it was wet as well. His upper body, well defined and toned was littered with bruises and scars, equal to that of Caelan's but hidden by those that were most recent. The bite on his neck had mostly healed, and no longer required him to wear bandages over it, unless to keep it hidden from other students but Devan didn't see it as an issue and chose not to most often. He ran a hand through his hair, finally getting his bangs out of his face so he could properly see before he glanced over at Caelan once more. "I won't be able to road trip this summer. No beaches for me. But..maybe we can go back down to the lake." @ caelan || be happy cally. devan demands it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan just helped him remove the jacket without saying a word. He was tired, tired of being alone. Tired of being in the same room with Devan, but not being able to do what he wanted. But he'd stay away in that way. For Devan's good. This was to keep him safe, and alive. Simple as that. His mind would never be changed, no matter how sick it made him feel. No matter how much this whole thing stung for him. He only set the clothes down in the bathroom after getting them off. He'd try to let them dry. At least for now this was okay, he felt fine. Even if he was slightly stressed nothing else should have mattered. This was his life now. Being forgotten by Devan. The things they had, it was just how it went. And he'd not bother trying to bring them back. If only because he knew his boyfriend would get hurt again. And he did not like the idea of that stuff either. So he would stay away, let his heart close up again. Best to build up those walls now.
"O-oh okay...I'm sorr-" He cut himself off, and just tilted his head at Devan. Why was he bringing that up again. Caelan sighed cause he sighed. That should not matter. So what the heck was Devan's issue. Why did he have to keep on talking about it. That only seemed to frustrate him a little bit more now. Yet he'd keep it to himself. At the very least that was all he could do. "What are you even talking about man? That wasn't even towards you. Just get dressed, you need proper clothes." He would take care of him for the next year of high school, and went they went separate ways he'd live with it. For now all he could do was attempt to pretend he was happy. Even if his chest really hurt suddenly, that stinging pain was not going away and he didn't get why.
"w-what why? Oh I mean if you can't then you can't. I'm gonna go get something to eat, you want anything?" He just forced the smile and walked into the kitchen. He leaned on the counter and looked at the ceiling. His chest hurt, his eyes stung. Everything he had to remember Devan had been attacked. He shouldn't let him go anywhere. What was he supposed to do? This felt really confusing, and he barely knew what to do. Caelan just reached into the fridge and thought of making something. But he wasn't that hungry either now, so he just grabbed a piece of bread and shoved it down his throat. If Devan asked him for anything then he'd get him something to at that. So what was he going to do? Right now it was strange for him. He just felt sick and spit the bread out in the trash before putting the food away.
"Devan hey. What do you wanna do now? Besides just sleep?" He had to remember Devan probably made other plans they weren't dating anymore. He had no memory of it. So those ideas still bothered him. But Caelan only forced that smile, waiting till it stuck even if he didn't know what to do. Or if Devan would buy it. He'd just leave it at he was tired right now. That's all. It sounded like him. |

Devan scoffed under his breath, his frown disappearing as he watched Caelan and listened to him while he moved about. It took him a moment or so to take another step, but before Cael could remind him to change he'd walk towards his dresser and pull out a pair of clean sweats. Without looking over at the shorter male again, he slipped off his pants and pulled on his lounge clothes, all the while trying not to remember how he'd seen Caelan strip naked a while ago. Though trying not to only made him actually think about it. His ears turned a bright red, though thankfully it didn't spread to his cheeks. He shook his head to himself and walked over to his bed before glancing over at Cael once more. "No. I'm good." At the moment Devan didn't realize how odd it was for him to turn down food, and even more so how bizarre it was that he wasn't hungry. He wasn't even sure why he didn't have an appetite. It was such a trivial thing to think about that he didn't put much thought to it other than being a bit confused, though he did know that seeing Caelan walk around and talk in the tone that he was, it still didn't seem right to him. The atmosphere was off. "It's not that I don't want to go Caelan. I'm just not sure if I'll be able to go anywhere. My parents, and with what happened, I know they'll try to keep a closer eye on me and I don't want to give them reasons to worry." He cared about what they thought of him, and more importantly he didn't want to make his mother feel more worried than she likely had been about him even going to this school. "I'm gonna get some sleep, but you need to too. You still have a headache don't you. Get some rest Caelan." @ caelan || be happy cally. devan demands it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He only gave a small nod and went back to what he wanted to do. Whatever it was, and yet he'd rather not deal with it. Caelan wouldn't force Devan to eat, he just didn't want to either right now. He was too tired for that. So for now he'd just deal with this in another way. Like forcing his friend into bed. Trying to get him to rest sounded easy enough for him. He only went back to his own things, like walking back to the room. He felt really bothered. Barely knowing what to do about this. What could he end up saying? Caelan felt like his chest was aching suddenly. What was he supposed to do about all of this anyway? He couldn't tell Devan, it was not going to help. "Devan...let's just go to bed. Okay. I'm tired for now." He was so tired, it wouldn't end up helping him either. Or getting him anywhere either. He'd probably just end up falling off the edge of the earth, or well onto the floor if he stood up for too long.
He raised his hand like he would slam it into the table, but no he didn't. Caelan stopped himself and just gave a small pained laugh. This was fine for him. Yet he didn't know what to do. Perhaps it wasn't going to do him any good either. At least for now anyway. Though what was he supposed to do? How could he figure out where to go with this anyway. Yet he'd rather not dwell in the wrong ideas or anything. Basically. "Yea I know, they won't let you. I got that already. Let's just go to sleep." He huffed a bit then tried to rest. This was just way too tiring for him. To deal with this. To get dragged into this. To feel his chest being torn open again. No he couldn't do that. He only smiled, and walked normally over to his own bed.
"Yea got it already. You care about them, and you don't want them to worry. So don't go then." He was a bit irritated but it wasn't obvious in his tone. He was actually trying to be happy for Devan? That was the impression given and Caelan just curled up on his bed, looking over the wall groaning over his headache. It felt really bad, maybe because he was just bottling his emotions up so badly. Who knew He didn't even care, he just let it go and then sat up. "Good night Devan...I guess." He had a feeling he wouldn't be sleeping though. Maybe that was why he didn't want to be so social right now. It wasn't going to go do him any good.
Caelan just leaned back down and buried his face into the pillow. He could feel his chest ache again, and he just blamed the bruises. He wasn't in pain in any other way. He did not feel a thing, and Caelan just closed his eyes trying to sleep now. |

He just stared, a small hinted frown in his features as he registered the fairly annoyed tone in his friends voice. What did he do this time to earn that tone? Devan still wanted to hang out with him this summer, and it wasn't as if he was going to stop being his friend just because his parents wouldn't allow him to road trip to the California or some other state on the coast. He felt bad. He'd done something wrong and he wasn't entirely sure what it was, yet again, and as a repetition and form of habit he wouldn't ask Caelan what was wrong. In his own mind he already felt like a broken record. It wasn't just his parents he cared about. "..Okay." He said simply, sitting down on the edge of his bed before he pulled the blanket up and slid under the covers. All the while he kept his eyes somewhat trained on Caelan. He felt like he had very little room to talk, however he didn't want to argue either. Devan knew that he wasn't the only one physically hurting from their last hunt together. He wanted Caelan to have his break, and more dialogue wouldn't help him rest. Devan turned onto his side so he'd be able to see Cael from his bed. He watched his expressions and body language, hoping to read him thoroughly but still failing to see through him entirely. Caelan had always been so difficult to read. He pulled the blanket up closer to his face, fidgeting with it lazily. If Caelan wasn't in the mood to talk, than he wouldn't force him. "..Good night Cally."@ caelan || be happy cally. devan demands it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan was too tired to deal with things, it felt as if he was not going to get anywhere. So for now he'd just have to pretend it wasn't bothering him. Or something along those lines anyway. With a small yawn he started to fall asleep again. Did it even matter? Probably not right, perhaps. Who knew. He felt that he might not be in the right place. He was feeling a little better now that he was on his bed. That was all that mattered. It'd probably not end up changing later, as far as he was concerned. He wanted to tell Devan he hadn't done anything wrong. But what would that do? Right now he wasn't entirely sure where to go with this either. Couldn't be all that surprising though, this was just his life. And how it'd always been apparently. At the very least he had a somewhat good day. Minus the small fight they had. Though he'd just rather not talk about it right now. It'd probably only stress him a little bit more then he actually liked.
At least Devan wasn't pushing this anymore. Caelan didn't even know what to do. He only mumbled something and then pulled his blankets over his head. Going to sleep. His body was slowly moving, as if he was having a bit of trouble sleeping. The rise and fall of his chest did say he was asleep. He only seemed to be struggling through things going on in his head right now anyway. That was all. Perhaps he needed to shove this off, and not dwell on it once again. That'd just not end up doing him a lot of good anyway. He was already more then aware of it, so why would he bother to change things. His friend should sleep, and hopefully he had finally passed out. Before Caelan had of course. Caelan's body had been so worn out, but he tried so hard to pretend it didn't matter. And that he could just keep on working.
He would just stay asleep for awhile. Nothing could wake him up now, after all he hadn't been sleeping for days. So this was his first time not being stuck in something like that. Or anything. But he'd have to figure out that tomorrow. Sleep was just going to keep him down for awhile right now. And he'd just keep it that way. He only pulled the blanket over his body some more, and tried to stop shivering. His body was sore, and even in his sleep it made it hard to get some sleep at least.
Devan wasn't going to come over into his bed. He'd probably just end falling asleep into his own bed. Pretty much, that was how Devan was, and his body was probably still sore. After all he'd be attacked and hurt really bad. |
