Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan had to remember he was not supposed to get closed to him. He needed to stay back and let Devan do his job. That was how this went, even if he couldn't shake off that bad feeling, it just kept getting worse. More then he wanted to admit by now at the very least. Right? So what was he supposed to do? At that moment it'd probably not change anything. He had started to get a bit distracted, and lost track of Devan. Even if he had been focused that male could be so darn fast when he wanted to be. Jeez, well at least it helped him be a hunter. Pretty much. That was all Caelan thought about now even if he wanted to find some sign of him. He'd be okay.
Devan was fine, he wasn't weak. Caelan had made sure of that, and it wasn't like he screwed up before. And if something bad happened, people were always around. That was all. Caelan had kept out of Devan's way as promised. Watching from a distance still, he was just wandering the roofs. Trying to find him again, when he heard something. That growling sound had caught him off guard, and the heavy weight that slammed him down to the edge of the roof was no better. It had knocked the air out of him, and almost tossed him down onto the ground. He growled, and tugged his body back up the weapon had fallen to the ground in a useless heap. He'd have to get it back later. Digging into his jacket pocket he tugged the knife out.
Holding the blade in his hand as he just smirked. "You can do better than that can't you shrimpy vampire." He heard the hiss in the vampire's voice as he flipped back up onto the roof. Standing face to face with this thing was bad. They smelled so bad. All that blood, it was all over them. Caelan had to resist the want to bring his hand up over his nose. What was he even going on here? Level E's or D's shouldn't be attacking him. They didn't think he was out here to hunt? Or maybe they did now. He was uncertain, and only wanted to find Devan. He felt the vampire go past him again, barely managing to dodge him. No he needed to get his brain back on straight or he'd end up getting hurt instead. Last thing he needed right now.
"Gotta try better than that." He growled and kicked the vampire back, tugging the blade out of his boot and throwing it at the vampire's shoulder. It cut into the things skin and stuck there. This vampire was still coming at him though, and Caelan only knew he ended up on his back with the vampire trying to take a bite out of him. Great his confidence was a bit shaken. Not knowing where Devan was might have shaken him a little bit. But he wasn't sure, he just knew something made him feel majorly uncomfortable. He just tried to shove the vampire off the roof. Maybe if it fell to the ground he'd be able to get a better chance. All he knew was that he could smell the stench of that vampire's breathe, and kept wondering where Devan was.
He had to be alright, he wasn't weak. Caelan just kept repeating that over and over again as he kicked the vampire down over the roof, and heard it slam into the ground hard. |

"Who the fuck are you? What do you want?" He was angry, pissed. He hoped that Caelan was safe, and deep down hoped that he also didn't come this way for fear that he would get hurt. A rogue noble was dangerous and far beyond their 'pay grade'. They were trained to hunt vampires, but a noble was practically the big leagues and neither of them were ready for it not matter how talented either were. The noble looked down at him, features hard and unamused. "Devan Cross? Born to a hunter family and currently in a forbidden relationship with a certain friend?" This made his stomach churn. He thought for sure he was going to puke, and obviously the vampire noticed the change in his expression. The man's reaction, a small grin and a nod of acknowledgement. "That's all I needed to know." He was wrong, Devan wanted to say. He knew full well what friend he was talking about, but they weren't in any relationship..Even though he'd wanted to be. More importantly how did this stranger know anything about him. It wasn't strange that he was aware that he was a hunter, that was blatantly obvious, but the bit about Caelan. How would he have known that when not even his parents did? The man stood up slowly, and in doing so brought Devan along with him. His body, still entangled in the mess of roots enveloping him, was forced into a sitting position where he more fervently began to struggle. "If that's it than let me go you leech."Thrust hard against a tree beside him Devan gasped, the air being knocked out of him, forcing the boy to cough and strain to pull in the precious oxygen he needed. "Don't talk back to your elders." As he coaxed himself to open his eyes he could see that the blonde haired man was now at eye level with him. He was so tall that even Devan's feet had to be slightly raised off of the ground but it didn't matter. Deep down he was scared but he wouldn't admit it. However the vampire could tell just by listening to his heart beat. The venomous eyes of the stranger looked from Devan's green hues to his exposed neck, and in that moment Devan realized he was in more trouble than he'd previously though. "I'm going to kill you." Thinner roots slithered from the ground, over his chest and tilted chin. He tried to struggle but he pinned his head back and made it uncomfortable to even try. His breathing had picked him, fear trickling into his being. "My parents will fucking kill you!" Though no matter what threat he threw at the man he wasn't stopping. Before Devan could say another word he leaned forward, fangs barred, and bit into Devan's neck. He could do nothing more than to call out. @ caelan || im sexy and i kno it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He jumped down landing on the vampire and stabbing them in the chest. The knife sticking out of the monsters chest. All he wanted to do was shake this off right now. But of course Caelan felt like something was wrong, something was really bad. And he couldn't figure this out. What had happened? Devan wasn't around, this was not like him at all. It never really had been wasn't it? He kicked the vampire's head off after cutting it a little then gathered up his weapons and just fled. He had to find Devan. That was all Caelan was thinking about. He covered up a lot of what he felt unless it was around people he cared about. That was a different matter, the stress was clearly written on his face as he moved down the street. Trying to track Devan's actions.
"Come on where are you." He slipped towards a scene he never wanted to see, a vampire leaning over Devan. Biting him. Caelan didn't even think twice as he grabbed the gun and held it up. "Hey fucker, back off" He tried to shoot the vampire, aiming for it's shoulder, it wouldn't hit Devan. Or so he hoped it wouldn't. Caelan wanted to get that thing away from him. After firing the gun he tugged the machete like sword off of his back. Why did this happen? This was what he feared. Caelan knew his bad feeling had a reason to be there now, and he should have acted on it. Talking Devan out of the mission and just doing it himself. That was all he could have done. But it didn't work.
He tried to attack the vampire again, the blade swinging down from the vampire's shoulder to it's hip. If they moved around. It was a diagonal attack anyway, Caelan was trying not to be blinded by the wrong thoughts. Devan wasn't that stupid. He just needed to get that freak away from him. That's all he could think about right now, and it made him shiver with anger. Someone took a bite out of Devan, and hurt him. Why did he feel this? It was almost like it should make him sick instead. But not it didn't. Instead he was just channeling that rage into trying to kill this vampire. "Get the fuck away from him, or I'll break you in half." He did not care that he was a noble, this jerk needed to screw off. He was messing with the wrong person. If he tried to shove Caelan away the boy might only get angry. But Caelan with rage was nothing compared to a noble, not even if he was a hunter.
The rage might be his downfall instead. He just wanted to get to Devan, and he felt like he wasn't thinking clearly. He screwed up. He really should have talked Devan out of it. But he couldn't do much about that now, it wasn't going to help him at all. Caelan thought he felt his shirt tear, but he wasn't even registering anything around him but this noble. |

He needed help, he knew he did, but there was no way he would call out for Caelan to bring him here. Even so that didn't seem to matter. He was growling under his breath, trying to move as he struggled to take in oxygen among his panic. He was going to die, or so Devan thought. He felt the vampires hand against his forehead and felt bizarrely lethargic. He could hear the sound of Caelan's voice, shouting..something but it was muffled an inaudible to him. Weakly he attempted to speak, to say Caelan's name and warn him to get away but his reactions were so slow from then on. He could hardly move let alone speak. The vampire, feeling a rush of pain from the shot fired at him pulled back from Devan and turned to Caelan. He gripped his arm feeling blood pool around the areas afflicted, driving his anger and hostility. Blood from Devan's neck dripped from the corner of his mouth, though his lips were pressed into a thin, unamused line. As Caelan stomped towards him, pulling out that knife of his, the noble didn't move from where he was and instead lowered his hand from his shoulder and raised it. In a swiping motion he orchestrated the branches of the trees nearest him to extend and throw him back. Meanwhile Devan was fading in and out of consciousness. Having his memory tampered with while he'd been awake had negative effects on him, and he was on the verge of having a seizure because of it. The noble could tell, and he didn't want the child to suffer brain damage -since that wasn't in the deal. He raised his hand and finished the deed, putting Devan out and sifting through his memories so he would forget all feelings or shared confessions he may have had for Caelan that came close to romantic. After his job was done, he'd look to Caelan -assuming he'd be struggling to get back up. "I'll be taking my leave now." He said, regardless of what protesting or swearing came his way. Within moments he would flit away, quickly and without further desire to fight -flustered enough that he'd been injured. @ caelan || im sexy and i kno it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan had been so caught off guard, he didn't notice the branches till they tossed back into the wall. The force made the wall crack behind him. He groaned and tried to get up. "Don't fucking touch him! W-what the hell are you doing?" He was wobbly, and he kept on trying to get up. He couldn't just give up like that. Caelan wasn't supposed to. He couldn't help it, could he? Caelan's body wasn't steady. He couldn't do this. What had happened? Why didn't he say anything? This was his fault, Caelan shook it off, and got up leaving the gun and the knife there.
They didn't matter. He just leaned down next to Devan ignoring the pain in his back. "D-Devan come on! Wake up." He just shook him, trying to wake him up. His chest hurt, and he chewed his lower lip till it bled. Ripping his shirt he wrapped it around Devan's neck, trying to cover up the bite for now. With that he moved to gather his weapons, and tuck them away before trying to pick Devan up. Caelan just moved Devan onto his back, ignoring how it just made his back hurt. There was a place he needed to go. Back to Devan's house, he'd get the car first.
The boy just looked down at the ground as he moved, he was worried. It was barely visible on his face, but he was. Caelan felt numb too on top of that. All he was doing was going through the motions. Devan would usually be yelling at him for using his car. But Caelan wouldn't even think of that. He just set Devan in the back seat, and gently touched his cheek before climbing into the front seat. He took Devan's phone and dug through it for his parent's number. He could barely form the words but he had too. "...Devan's hurt. I'm bringing him to you, be ready for it." He couldn't give the details, after all the words wouldn't form. He just brought the male home, wanting to speed through what little traffic there was but he didn't have his license for a car yet. He had his bike one but still.
He would take the car around the back where people were waiting, he tried to move Devan out of the car only for the stronger people to come and take Devan from him. He just looked at them taking Devan away as he stood there by the car. He didn't move. All he could do was watch. He didn't care that he was hurt, he didn't care that he might be bleeding. He might be a little sick, but it was all stress related. Caelan just slipped down next to the car bringing his knees up to his chest. Devan needed him but he could barely move. How pathetic was he? He didn't know what had been done to Devan either. "Just check him over, that damn vampire did something to him." That was all he said before he went silent again, Caelan thought about getting back up. He needed to find that damn noble.
After all that was the task on Caelan's list. Find that noble and gut him, make him die horribly for what he had decided to do. He stood up to limp inside, trying to hide the limp before he made it through the door. All Caelan would be able to do was watch them tend to Devan. He was so useless, but he just watched. And responded to any questions they asked him. This was supposed to be normal, and end like all the other ones did before them. But why didn't it. |

He was out like a light, and of no use or help to Caelan as he struggled to get to him. The roots that had bound him to the tree withered and died, easily being broken away by the younger male as he pulled him up and got him onto his back. He would have felt terrible, and his only concern would have been Caelan if he'd been conscious, but sadly he was cast in nothing but darkness. Even throughout the ride back to his parents, and when they'd arrived he hadn't stirred in the least. His mother, paranoid and anxious helped tend to the bite once they got him inside and his father had laid him out on the kitchen table. Thankfully, they weren't foreign to treating injuries like this and were able to tend to him quickly. Among the chaos Devan's father shooed away friends that they'd had over, excusing them to leave, all except Caelan who they still needed to interrogate on the matter. "What happened Caelan? Did you see what happened?" Devan's father locked down the truck and ushered Cae inside, ebbing him to sit down and look at him so he could focus. "We shouldn't have let him go by himself. You should have went with him Adam." His mother complained, holding down a cloth to Devan's bite to stop the bleeding, but she couldn't help but feel bothered. Her son was unconscious lying on their kitchen table. She was already blaming his dad before he could even say a word, but the old man ignored her and looked to Caelan for an answer to his previous questions. @ caelan || im sexy and i kno it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan didn't fight as he moved inside, no he just put up with it. Sighing lightly he found a place to settle down, ignoring that pain in his back still. It was not good, he had bruises on his back, and small cuts on his front. The ripped fabric of his shirt didn't even matter. Caelan couldn't look up at them. He just wasn't able to right now. "I'm sorry...I-I didn't see a lot of it..I was told to stay back but followed him from a distance. Only showed up to see that guy bite him, and touch his forehead or something? He was doing something...Sorry. I should go..." Caelan wasn't sure what to say, he wanted to stay but he wasn't family. This was a family matter which didn't include Caelan. He should have told Devan no, he should have tried harder to stay with him. But he didn't. He just settled there, and played with his clothes. Caelan couldn't help watching Devan, he'd probably wake up a few days from now. Or something but he wasn't going to say anything about that.
This wasn't his place to even be here. Even if he knew what had happened. "Is he...going to be okay?" He couldn't help asking them, even if it wasn't his business. Caelan felt tired, his anger high was starting to fade. Which probably wasn't very good either. Who knew though. It confused him a lot anyway. He just glanced at them, looking between the both of them. So far they hadn't yelled at him but it was his fault. It'd be his fault for awhile anyway. "He was fine till that stupid ass showed up. Fucking noble vampire." Caelan stood up and just sighed, he looked back to them and leaned over to bow towards them. "I'm sorry, I should have been faster..." That was all he said as he tried to straighten back up again. His back was hurting more now, the more he moved but he wouldn't bother to stop moving.
Caelan wouldn't say he was blaming himself. He just had revenge on the mind right now. It kept him from letting those flood gates open. He was going to have go back into that bubble he made for himself. The one he should have never let Devan get through in the way he did. He was leaving out details, things the parents wouldn't need to know. It's not like they knew the things Devan was involved in. At least where Caelan was involved. All of this just upset him again but he shrugged it off. He would just play it off as he was worried about Devan. He couldn't be here right now, he had work he needed to do. |

Both of Devan's parents were conflicted about their feelings towards Caelan's involvement in this. They were glad that the boy didn't seem to be as hurt as Devan, but they also were a bit at odds that Cael didn't get involved sooner than he should have. However, they were both kids and as the two adults shared glanced with one another they understood that it wasn't really Caelan, or Devan's fault. Devan's mother removed the cloth from her son's neck, thankful that most of the bleeding had stopped. Some ointment and bandages, and Devan would be fine, at least until they figured out if he had any other injuries but they'd have to wait until he woke up to check. "He'll be fine." She assured Caelan, her voice as confident as possible in hopes of making her son's friend feel at ease. "Do you need any help?" Devan's father inquired, glancing over at her as he folded his arms across his chest. She gave him a look and shook her head once before giving him a curt, 'No'. Devan's father was dissatisfied with her reply, but if the woman didn't want his help than he'd stay away from her or suffer the consequences. He brought his attention back to Caelan as he spoke, frowning while the boy mentioned a noble. Devan's mother looked at Cael equally surprised. "What?" She said suddenly, before Devan's father could tell Caelan to wait. "A noble? You can't just leave after saying something like that. Sit down Caelan so we can get to the bottom of this." Devan's father reached out to rest his hand on the young boy's shoulder, though simultaneously Devan interrupted the entire conversation by coming to life. He gasped sharply, struggling to breath as he reached for his neck and attempted to push himself up no matter how much it hurt. Some of his ribs were bruised and it cause excruciating pain for him to try to sit up, further causing him to struggle to breath and growl and scream in an attempt to sate the pain. "Help, now!" Devan's mother finally said, after trying to hold and push Devan back down onto the kitchen table on her own. She allowed Devan's father to help this time, waiting for his assistance as he rushed to the other side and held his son down by the shoulders so he'd stop trying to get up. "Caelan, come press this to his neck please!" Devan's mother went on, holding out the blood stained towel for Cael to take while with her free hand she attempted to move Devan's hands away from his neck. "Devan, honey, you're safe now. Calm down. You have to stop trying to get up." @ caelan || im sexy and i kno it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan felt as if he was on trial here, and in turn he was just shutting down. His eyes focused back on the ground again, he already blamed himself. No need to have people add onto it really. So he wanted to get out of here. Devan would be better off without him here right now at least. He just stepped away from them and kept to the corner of the room. This wasn't his house, he messed up. Devan got hurt. And they were looking at him, like they probably wanted to say something. But as if they'd do that. He was just a learning hunter, he wasn't that strong yet. And he tried. He remembered picking up the gun but things sorta went black or blurry after that. Like he didn't remember it. He didn't say a word, and he just gave a small nod. Caelan was trying to remember the rest, the fact that Devan was wrapped up. Those vines around his body. They had cut into Caelan too so he remembered that part. But he didn't say a word. He didn't now how to explain it, he was just stuck.
"No...This is a family matter, not mine. I just want to go home. That noble had reasons for doing this. What do you want from me?" He didn't get them. Why did they even want him here? It was already confusing enough by now. And he'd rather not deal with it. Apparently. So what was he going to do. Caelan might not be in the right area, so what was he going to do? Sighing lightly he just glanced at them. What did they want? Really what would they say to him, it probably didn't matter but he was still curious. He had to wonder why they weren't yelling at him, or trying to make him spill his information. What little he knew. Caelan didn't say a word he just walked over to help. Moving Devan's hands to press it to his neck. Caelan wouldn't even look at Devan he was just focused on the ground. Once Devan fell asleep again he'd leave.
That'd probably be for the best. "Just stay down Devan...you are home now as they said." He shut up after saying that, and looked at him. Though would this even do a lot of good? Probably not. He could only wonder why Devan got hurt. Why? They had to be stalking them but both of those children had thought it'd be okay. He really did think it was just going to be perfectly. He left his hands on the wound with the cloth over it. Not caring if he got some of the blood on his hands. He wanted to stop Devan, and he thought about trying to. But how. This wasn't his place Caelan was just here. He should have just gone with Devan, this wouldn't have happened if he did.
Caelan could only watch, and feel the guilt grow again. But he was keeping his mind under control till he could leave. He just held the towel down with one hand, and wiped the other on his pants. Putting his hand gently on Devan's shoulder he tried to get the boy to lay back down. "Just don't move..." Three words nothing more, Caelan was almost limiting the things he said, or the contact he gave with Devan. But it didn't matter now. Trying to get him to rest was what mattered. |

He was panicked and in shock. Just a second ago a vampire had been sucking blood out of him. He'd thought then that he was going to die, and he very well thought that he was at the moment if not for the amount of pain he felt in his chest and midsection. After Caelan and Devan's mother pulled his hands away Devan's father took them and used his weight to hold him down without trying to push too much of the air from his chest as he seemed to need it more than ever. He could hear the sound of his mother's voice and as he looked away from the hands trying to keep him down and up into her eyes he saw that she was there next to him. Devan's green hues darted between his parents then, slowly beginning to realize that what they were saying may be true. He was at home. How did he get here? Where was that vampire? Where was Caelan? "C-caelan." He stammered, shaky and scared, but he wanted to know where his friend was and if he was okay. He looked at his mother, seeking an answer in her features, praying that he hadn't been killed. When she moved aside, Devan looked over and saw him, his best friend beside him, pressing something to his neck. In that moment as he looked at the person he'd last seen in that neighborhood, relief enveloped him and Devan noticeably began to calm down. They were both alive, thank god. He let his muscles relax. His mother brushed back some of his bangs that had gotten in his face, while his father reluctantly leaned off of him and stood up straighter. When they met eye contact Devan communicated through his eyes that he wasn't going to struggle anymore, as it was still difficult to speak. All three of the Cross's took turns sighing in relief. "I'm going to find some water and bandages. Stay put, both of you." The woman was serious and the tone she used suggested that. Devan's father offered to go with her, and this time she allowed it, leaving the two boys alone. Devan stared up at the ceiling for a long moment before glancing over at Caelan. He noted that he could still feel his legs and arms. He wasn't paralyzed..which was good. "I'm sorry.. I fucked up. Shit, I'm glad you're okay though."@ caelan || im sexy and i kno it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan felt so horrible just watching this, this whole scene just made him feel weird as heck. He didn't know what to make of it, but he wanted to get his friend taken care of. Right just his friend, here he needed to be careful. The things he said could get them into a lot of trouble, he controlled his actions in Devan's house usually. But he just wanted to curl his arms around the older male and cry. Yes Caelan Rochester wanted to actually show he was scared. But than again that was already obvious wasn't it? He felt almost better when the parents had left the room, and they were alone. This wasn't going to be so bad, nope they'd be alright.
Or so he thought. Caelan didn't know what to say, he wasn't sure what had happened. Or what that vampire had done. He thought of doing something but he just chewed his lower lip. "Devan...N-no it's fine. I'm just...are you alright? I mean, nevermind. At least you are awake now, you had me worried." He tried to play it off that he was relaxed. His hand still holding that cloth in place as he moved to cling to Devan. His free arm avoiding touching the boy's ribs he just wanted to make sure this was real.
Even if he had been the one who carried Devan this direction, he just couldn't help trying to find out if this was all real or something. Basically. Either way he'd have to deal with it. Right now though Caelan just buried his face into Devan's neck, the side without the bite of course. "I-I'm sorry, I should have watched you better..." He kept stammering over his words, he didn't know what that vampire did so, he was a bit unsure how to go about this without setting Devan off. At least the boy's parents were out of the room. He worried for the injured form of the man that was before him. Devan would be on bed rest for weeks, if not longer. It all depended on the other injuries he had hidden beneath the surface.
He did not want him to get worse, no he wanted Devan to improve. "What did he say before he tried to bite you? Devan did he say anything?" He was not trying to push him, but Caelan needed to know. He hadn't heard the thing about the relationship they shared. It was foreign, and strange in general. To feel so out of touch here, it wasn't so bad though. Devan might seem slightly rigid, but he was also in a lot of pain. Caelan chewed his body limit again, his body was shaking as he clung to Devan. He wanted Devan to hold him back, tell him everything would be okay like he used to. Like when Caelan was freaking out over his hunter and human exams.
"You really scared me you idiot, do you have any other injuries?" He asked, they needed to make note of all of them, so Caelan would do just that. Even if his mind wanted to be elsewhere right about now. This couldn't be so bad, they'd at least be alright for a moment. Wouldn't they? He just had to hope so. Caelan still wanted to know what that man had done, and why he'd done it. He'd hunt that noble down till he was dead, and broken between his own hands, but he'd leave that alone for now.
Devan was his concern. |

Devan felt terrible as he continued to take in Caelan's expression, body language, and realized he looked far more upset than he had initially thought him to be. It was Devan's fault that this had all happened, and he hadn't meant to worry his best friend so much, but he felt fine now -or at least some what. Seeing Caelan this way, it left him without words, momentarily taken aback. However Devan only became more anxious and at odds with himself when Caelan rested against him like that. "Caelan, I swear I'm fine, just don't blame yourself alright? It was my responsibility to take care of the ex humans, so don't worry about it." He said with a smile, though his body was as stiff as ever while Caelan was this close to him. It was a bit awkward, but he refused to say anything about it knowing that he could just end up making Caelan even more upset. Devan did feel cared about and that feeling was welcome after what he'd just experienced. Breathing, even normally like this, was uncomfortable on his midsection. He could practically feel which ribs were bruised or fractured, whatever they were -he'd have to wait for his mother to analyze them before making any rash claims. The bite on his neck stung as well, but that among other things would be the quickest to heal, thankfully. Devan cleared his throat and expelled his breath slowly, while listening to Caelan's next question. What had he said? Devan frowned, confused at first as he tried to think about this. Had Caelan heard him say anything? There was that bit about not talking back, and the threats he made. "I threatened to kill him, but that's all I remember." He smirked, knowing that if it had been any other hunter that they would have likely done the same. His grin quickly fell however, when Caelan admitted that he'd been scared. It made him feel like a total jerk again, and he knew he had to make it up to him somehow. He lifted a free hand and patted his friend on the head, hoping to comfort him in some way. "We're safe now okay, and I'll be alright. Aside from the bite, I can't tell for sure but I think a couple of my ribs might be fractured. It kind of hurts to breath."@ caelan || im sexy and i kno it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He just tried to keep his worries silent, keep his stress to himself. Not that he'd ever been so good at handling that. It was never his style, go figure right. With a small sigh he just tried to relax. Tried not to dwell on this too much. Since it wasn't bound to help, he wanted to know what that dang noble had done. What he had taken away? There had to be something, something major at that. He paused and just pulled back with a nervous laugh. Caelan had felt how stiff Devan, and the situation was truly starting to sink in. Caelan was putting the pieces together slowly, and he just wanted to disappear. That'd be so much better for him. To leave them alone. Devan needed his family more then Caelan, and Caelan wasn't in the right state of mind either. He could feel his thoughts wandering all over again, and just the very idea of it made his head hurt.
"O-okay if you say so. I guess. I mean..." He just trailed off and tried to keep relaxing. This probably wasn't going to do them any good. Or at least him. Things were complicated enough. For the moment he had a feeling he might be over thinking things way too much once again. Caelan didn't show he was bothered by Devan being stiff like that. But he was, he should go home. He really should go home. This would not be a safe place for him really, not at all. "Oh I see." He would keep his mouth shut the things he heard were better off left hidden. Better off not said, or shown to anyone basically. With a small glance towards the door Caelan just pulled up a chair. Maybe he'd sit here instead, and try not to hurt his back. He wouldn't even lean on his back cause it hurt.
The patting on his head was confusing but he just looked at him. Did any of that even matter? Probably not right now, apparently. Devan needed to get some rest, and Caelan had things to explain to his parents and big brother basically. They'd probably just want to get to him again. Or lecture him on how clueless he was. "Well your momma can look at them when she gets back in here. She'll probably give you some pills and such to take care of the pain." He said as he just looked around the room instead. Caelan didn't know why he felt so worried here, he was not feeling good. Putting his knees up to his chest he tried to relax.
This wasn't bad, they were safe. He had to remember that but he still felt depressed. |

Oh boy. Caelan looked so completely and utterly depressed. Devan had really screwed up this time. He let his hand fall from the boy's hair watching him closely as he pulled up a chair and sat down. How was he going to fix this? Maybe if he convinced Cael to go to that school with him he could give himself more time to try. "Hey, you should stay over tonight. You're parents are still out of town and it could be dangerous if you go back home alone." Devan was worried about Caelan too of course. He didn't want anything to happen to his one and only true friend, especially since he was certain that Caelan had a few injuries of his own. Foot steps from the hallway caught Devan's attention, and the sound of his mothers voice soon entered the room. "I think that's a good idea as well. Caelan, you should stay here tonight. You can contact your parents, but it would be safer for you to be here with us until your parents get back." Devan turned his neck to look at his mother and snapped a sudden 'Ow!' in response. His mother expelled a sigh, before sitting down on the other side of him with bandages in hand. "I thought I told you to stop trying to move." "Sorry." Devan replied apprehensively, trying to lay perfectly still now so his mother could tend to his neck. "Hey, Caelan have you heard of that new school that opened up. Arden Academy. Sounds legit huh? You should go with me. It'll be fun." "Excuse me? Since when have we agreed to let you attend that school?" "Aw come on mom, it'll be fine. The headmaster is a hunter. So what do you think Cael?" Devan glanced over at the boy, trying not to move as much this time so it wouldn't bother his mother. Little did he realize that he sounded like a broken record to Caelan, who'd already heard this proposal a couple hours ago. @ caelan || im sexy and i kno it

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He couldn't help it, this felt odd to him. Being alone at home might be better, Caelan would be less of a danger there. At least to anyone but himself. Right? So for now he was just stuck dealing with this. As much as he didn't entirely enjoy that idea. Right? Apparently this was probably not a good idea. He might not be doing this the right way either. He had a lot of awkward ideas going through his head right now. But Caelan wouldn't be able to talk about it. He did not not even know how to talk about it either. Yes he was depressed, he had a lot of reasons to be depressed. Though Caelan was avoiding talking about them at least for right now. It couldn't be so bad if he did this. Right? At least for a little while. Either way he glanced at Devan then tried to smile a little bit. Keeping up appearances was the best thing he could do right now. As much as he didn't want to.
"Huh? Oh I guess so, I'll be fine though really." He wasn't going to fight entirely. But Caelan didn't like how he felt like he had fucked up again. What was he even doing? Was he getting this right. Or was he getting into trouble instead. Who knew. Caelan was just strange, and his body ached. More then he'd admit straight out to anyone right now. He felt that those things weren't meant to be spoken of. Or so he thought. But who knew, he just glanced over at Devan again. He couldn't deny him, or the boy's mother. He'd feel bad if he denied them. Mostly because he knew it'd probably make them unhappy. Which he didn't want for either of them. "I guess so, if you think it's for the best." He would not prevent them, from this sort of thing. Since they wanted him to stay here so badly right now.
He ignored his wounds, let her treat Devan's. After all Caelan felt fine compared to how Devan must have felt right now. He was probably in so much pain. His poor body was probably in need of a lot of rest right now. Even if he didn't want to admit that it was right now. Sighing lightly he just gave a small nod. Finally deciding to agree to this. He'd stay here for the night but like he'd end up sleeping by this point anyway. "Arden? Yea Mom and Dad brought it up once before I think. So why? Go with you huh...?" He trailed off. Maybe he should go though he didn't like the idea of a school with vampires. But maybe he'd be able to keep Devan safe, and find the vampire that did this crap to him. For whatever reason that was.
"I guess I can go...Mom and Dad won't be back for awhile. So would just have to call them." He said as he just looked at Devan then back down to the floor. This wasn't so bad to him. But he had a feeling it wasn't so good to do either. Pretty much. Either way Caelan had agreed when he knew his parents might not be so pleased about those details either. They'd just have to deal with it, he had protection and revenge on his mind. Nothing else about that school mattered. |
