Elias wiped the floor clean, still mentally beating himself over what he'd just said. Siridean's reaction told him enough. He'd screwed up again. If he still had his job after this, it would be a miracle. He pushed himself up off of the floor, and walked sullenly towards the trashcan near the door before returning his attention to Siri once more. The man was quick to change the subject, and for this he was somewhat thankful. He felt like a total moron and he was glad to carry things on.
When it came to means of living circumstance, Elias didn't live on campus or near. Most days he hitched rides with his coworkers who were fairly nice, and generous. Otherwise he took the bus. He had just recently moved to this state after all, and he didn't have enough money to buy a car. It was a huge inconvenience, but Eli was a humble person. He had no issue with walking home or taking the bus, however on a day like this...He was exhausted and as he now realized the time once more, his eyes narrowed until they shut and he placed a hand over his face to emphasize his exasperation with himself.
"No I..I live off campus, and I definitely missed the last bus of the night." Looks like hw was going to have to walk. He didn't mind the exercise, but it would likely take him over an hour just to get back home. Tonight just wasn't his night. "I'll be fine." Eli had no doubt he'd be able to make it home alright, and he didn't want to put out Siridean over something that was his own damn fault. He was just...sulking about his own mistakes this evening. He lowered his hand from his face and moved to his desk to grab his brief case and light jacket, leaving the rest of the papers he had scattered about the surface of the wood alone. He'd deal with it after he slept for a couple hours and returned to the school for work.
"Are you done with your classes for the night? I feel like I've been keeping you from something" He said sullenly, his utter cloud of sadness more obvious now than ever. "You should get some sleep if you're off. It really would be awful if someone like you got sick." Someone as handsome as Siridean. Elias bet that he didn't look any different sick either, and perhaps even a bit...

And the feeling in my blood I can never let it out This heart of darkness This night of pain It all becomes so far away In this space when I have gone You will be found again And the ties that bind me here Never let us go And the danger in my blood Is this who I am? This heart of darkness This night of pain I can't make it go away While his tendency to remain rather aloof may have left him socially dense to some things...He couldn't really ignore the sheer depressive waves that seemed to radiate from the young doctor. It was getting to the point where he thought he had done something gravely wrong somewhere, his brow furrowed slightly, his lips pursed. However, nothing in their brief conversation really signaled any severe faux pas as far as he knew...And so he was at a loss. It really didn't occur to him that Elias may have been upset to be caught in such a state by someone like himself. He was so concerned about his own inner beast that he didn't really give much thought to his physical appearance. Not that he had poor self-esteem, no, rather...Certain things didn't even register to him. "Are you sure? I could drive you if you wish," There was a pause as he considered, "It's rather late for you. Unless you live near by...Walking would take quite some time," Not like he had much else to take care of this evening besides grading the papers in his bag, but...That could always wait until he got back to his dorm. He fell quiet as Elias continued, head tilted slightly to the side, one hand raised to push some bangs out of his face. "I am used to this schedule so I won't have to sleep for a couple hours at least. It's not a problem." It was Sirideán's turn to be rather confused as he watched the sullen manner in which Elias was behaving. "...I...haven't offended you, have I, Mr. Debrov...?"coded by Mura

He spaced out for a moment, until the sound of Siridean's voice brought him back. Elias stared at him for a long moment, before shaking his head once and forcing a small smile. "No not at all. I'm just..I guess I'm just a bit tired is all." At least he wasn't lying. Eli raised his right hand to his hair and started twisting the longer blonde locks just behind his ear, a form of distraction for himself alone.
He still wasn't sure of whether or not he should use Siridean to take him home, but did he really want to walk all the way back? Elias wasn't so scared that someone might jump him, but the more he thought about the long stretch of woods to the city...It suddenly became a much better idea to use what generosity Siridean had offered him. "If you could take me home..maybe...I would really, really appreciate it." He said timidly, still fussing with his hair and maintaining the small apprehensive smile.

And the feeling in my blood I can never let it out This heart of darkness This night of pain It all becomes so far away In this space when I have gone You will be found again And the ties that bind me here Never let us go And the danger in my blood Is this who I am? This heart of darkness This night of pain I can't make it go away Tired. Sirideán rolled around the word in his head while discreetly eying the younger male. He wondered if that was truly the case, but considering the fact that it was indeed very late, he took the man at his word. "Understandable," The vampire gave a small nod, shelving the issue entirely. Given the notion he had that it was unlikely he was going to see the young doctor after this, it wouldn't do to dwell. He let the silence stretch for a couple of moments before Elias spoke again, a small smile coming to his pale lips. "Certainly," And so the tall man would wait for the other to be ready to leave before leading the way out of the little office. The walk to the parking lot was rather quiet, as he doubted that Elias would want to be bothered by strained small talk, as tired as he was. It didn't take very long to reach his car, a small, sleek model that problem got less use than it deserved...Really, most of his driving he did was to and from stores now and then. Pulling the keys from his slacks pocket, he unlocked the doors and opened the passenger's side for the blonde before slipping around to the other side. Settling into the driver's seat, he paused for a moment or two. He had Elias somewhere alone and rather private now. Yes, they had been alone in the doctor's office, but the space inside the car was much more closed in. This caused him to regard the smaller male thoughtfully from the corner of his vision for a little while. Absently listening to his heart beat. If he ignored the darker urge within him to drink blood, the sound was almost...beautifully rhythmic. What it must have been like to be human... Blinking once, he shook his head at himself and put the keys into the ignition, starting the car. Pulling out of the parking spot, he navigated the lot. "Where is it you live, Mr. Debrov?" He queried softly to break the quiet and give his mind a distraction. coded by Mura

He felt suddenly so privileged, to be escorted by such a handsome man. Elias kept these thoughts to himself for obvious reasons, but his mind never shut off the entire walk from the school to the man's car. He had stepped forward to open his door, but froze when Siridean stepped before him. Even such lengths of politeness struck a chord in him and despite his best efforts to not note such things he did, immediately. Elias blinked, and felt his face flush just faintly before he smiled thankfully towards Siridean and allowed himself inside the nice sleek car.
Once he settled inside he took one glance at the interior and realized...this guy much be rich too. Rich, handsome, and polite. Was there anything about Siridean that was negative? Perhaps he had a horrible habit of leaving food on the counter, or tracking mud and water in the entry way. He shook the thought from his mind as the long haired Night teacher entered the vehicle and started the car promptly. "West Ravenel. The less suburban side but when you get close you can just drop me off I really don't mind walking a little." He replied with a small smile still in his features.
He turned his cheek from Siridean to glance out of the clear glass window at his side. It was dark outside, pitch black actually. He was glad more than ever that he hadn't decided to walk. Elias didn't even carry around a flashlight. Though he wasn't one to be so childishly scared of the dark, it did seem a lot more intimidating while the setting was in the woods like this. Damn Colorado. He still wasn't used to it. "You can just call me Elias by the way. For someone that's older than me it does feel weird to be called mister."

This heart of darkness This night of pain I can't make it go away "Alright," The vampire mused as he pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road. It had been a while since he had been on that side of town. Thanks to his habit of keeping to himself and focusing so much on his work, he rarely had to make social calls (read: he never really did...) so there was no reason for him to head out to those parts. It wasn't like his family lived around here. His brow furrowed a little at that thought, and he sighed inwardly. And good riddance, he wouldn't want to be around here if they were... He kept his attention dutifully on the road, resisting the urge to absently glance over to his companion now and then. Sirideán contented himself with listening to the man's heartbeat, telling himself that it wasn't so bad to indulge in that small thing...Not like he intended to be spending any other time around humans. The teacher squinted slightly at the road, comfortable in the silence. Though the doctor soon spoke up and snagged his attention. "Ah...Sorry, it's habit." A faint, polite smile given as he continued to drive. The trip would be a lot quicker by car than on foot and he was happy to help the other man despite his own inner awkwardness. coded by Mura

As the car began to move Elias found himself drifting off. He didn't entirely notice it however, and tried to listen to Siridean as he answered him as well. The man's voice in itself was smooth and calm, a lullaby to his spirit. "It's okay." He replied in a sleepy groggy voice, his eyes fluttering as he tried to keep himself upright. His head nodded, bobbing down before he could snap out of his sleepy state for a few more seconds, only to repeat the process again.
Despite how awkward Siridean might have felt, Elias was comfortable within the confines of the space. It was quiet and he took comfort in such silence. It didn't bother him at all, especially while he was practically falling asleep. He leaned against the door, his eyes rolling, while he blinked and shook his head once. When was the last time he'd slept again? He honestly couldn't remember. Decent sleep? Not for a week at least.
In less then a couple minutes he had successfully managed to fall asleep, and Siridean had succeeded in getting him to that point.

This heart of darkness This night of pain I can't make it go away Not being the best at small talk, Sirideán simply let the silence descend and settle over the car cabin. Absently he noted the shift in the doctor's breathing, but didn't quite connect it with sleep as his attention was focused on the road. So he drove, comfortably quiet, the scenery passing them by at a decent clip. Soon enough the various trees of the area started to thin out and give way to buildings, and so he took his foot off the gas a little. It was hereabouts that Elias probably needed to be dropped off. Once he found a good spot to pull over, he guided the car to the side of the road and put it into park. Glancing to the side, his dark eyes narrowed slightly upon seeing his new acquaintance's state. The man's posture had settled into a rather relaxed poise and his chest rose and fell with the soft rhythm of slumber. For a little while, the vampire found himself simply watching the other man. Noting the way the dim light from a nearby streetlamp played over the younger male's features and glinted off his blonde hair. Which only seemed to make the gentle heartbeat in his ears that much more appealing. His brow furrowed at that realization, and the spell was broken, shaking his head rapidly at himself. What on earth was he doing? Besides being...ridiculous. He took a moment to inhale slowly and further scold himself inwardly before he gently reached out. Settling a cool hand on the other's shoulder, he gave him a slight nudge. "Elias...I'm sorry to wake you..." Sirideán started, voice starting soft but becoming a little more insistent as time passed, "...but we're here..."coded by Mura

He didn't dream, but the sleep that he received on the way to his home was nice, despite how quickly it had ended. Elias, stirred only faintly when Siridean initially nudged him, though he was slowly coaxing himself out of the daze already. The sound of the man's voice helped bring him back to the world just as quick as it had sent him away from it. His eyes slowly opened, and while he blinked to allow his vision to clear a long yawn escaped him.
Elias felt as if he were drunk, or rather, was waking up from a bad hang over. His head hurt and his shoulders ached. He was in desperate need of a long night of sleep, but in truth he would likely be waking up within a few hours from now. He rubbed the back of his neck, a pained wince in his features as he then shook his head once. Though the moment his vision cleared and he remembered where he'd been before he'd gotten to this state, he glanced over at Siridean with a nervous apologetic look.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to..w-what time is it?" He turned his cheek to see if he could recognize where they were, and from the road he slowly began to notice certain aspects that were familiar. He knew he could get home from here, but how he going to go about dismissing himself. He didn't want to be rude, seeing as how he had already just by falling asleep on the man. "Thanks for helping me. I've heard a lot about the Night class from the other students. I dunno about the others but you're...you're really nice."
You're really nice? ...God you are such a loser.
His face was turning red again. Embarrassment came with who he was nowadays.

And the feeling in my blood I can never let it out This heart of darkness This night of pain It all becomes so far away In this space when I have gone You will be found again And the ties that bind me here Never let us go And the danger in my blood Is this who I am? This heart of darkness This night of pain I can't make it go away Watching the other wake up slowly as amusing in a strange way, though Sirideán really didn't want to admit to himself that he liked watching someone. Acknowledging such pleasantness would only make him want to spend more time with people, and he was endeavoring to cut himself off from the world outside of his classes. For a little while he was silent, withdrawing his hand as soon as he noticed the doctor was regaining his wits. The question gave him pause, causing him to glance over to the digital clock in the dashboard. "A little after three..." He mused, a little surprised to be honest. He supposed time went faster when one was doing something a little more interesting then memorizing this or that fact for his class. Noting the red on the man's cheeks, he blinked once and his smile softened into something a little more sincere, though it only lasted a moment or two before he coaxed it back into a polite facade. Poor Elias. He really should get home and get into bed or his health was probably going to suffer. The other's commentary gave him pause and he glanced away for a half-beat. If only you knew, was his inner notion, but he kept that thought firmly under lock and key. If he had his way the subject would never be broached with the younger male. "You're welcome. No one should have to walk home alone in this darkness...Do be safe and get some good rest, Elias."coded by Mura

His smile was sincere, especially after the man's reply. Siridean really was a good person, at least from what he could gauge from their introduction. Elias wasn't always the best judge of character, but he worked with enough people to generally guess who were the good and bad. He could be a pessimist at times, but for the most part he saw good in everyone, Siridean included for obvious reasons.
"Yea I guess you're right." Letting his words linger for a moment before he reverted his gaze. For a minute second he forgot how to open the door, and shook his head before he finally reached for the handle and pushed it open. He got to his feet, unsteadily at first, and adjusted his light jacket before leaning in once more to grab his things he'd left in his seat. He was trying not to look up at Siridean, feeling nervous and erratic again now that his mind was somewhat aware. However he realized something and despite his schedules and commitments he announced it anyway.
"If for some reason the Night class needs me, my cellphone number should be listed behind the glass on my office door. I know it seems not so smart to do, but I prefer it if the students have a direct line to me in case of emergencies." He was a dedicated man after all, and since most of the students lived on campus, if something happened to them it would do very little good to call his office or the dorm room that he never used. Though leaving his number for everyone to see had generated the occasional prank call, he brushed them off and let it slide. He couldn't be angry at a bunch of kids just being kids, especially when he made himself such an easy target.
"Um..yea, I just wanted to let you know that. I'll leave now..thanks again for the ride." He muttered nervously and shut his door. He could feel his heart thudding in his chest, and honestly hoped that it was because of how nervous he was rather than the coffee plus sleep deprivation combination. As a doctor he was well aware of the side effects of working like this. He'd started twisting his hair again as he walked down the street away from the car, mumbling incoherent curses to himself for sounding so desperate in front of someone who looked so cool.
