It wasn't exactly normal for Devan to be so distraught like this, but ever since the other night he had been completely beside himself. Every second he couldn't stop picturing Caelan leaning in to kiss him. Even when he wasn't around the guy he couldn't rid himself of such inappropriate thoughts. It was starting to affect him in more ways then one. His sleeping patterns were worse than ever. He could hardly close his eyes without seeing that mental picture reappear behind his lids. It made him feel like he was some horrible creep. He was even going so far as to avoid Caelan, which just made him feel worse. They'd been friends forever, and honestly he didn't want to avoid the guy, but seeing him just made Devan completely and utterly uncomfortable and anxious. He couldn't even form a coherent sentence around him anymore, and he was sure that Cael would start to notice he was acting weird. He didn't want his friend to have the opportunity to ask him what was wrong so he'd been ushering himself away the moment he had the opportunity;however, being on his own didn't give him any comfort either. Where was he supposed to turn, when the only person he trusted with something like this was Caelan? He couldn't talk to Cael, when it was about him for god sake. Therefore, Devan had taken it upon himself to walk around the gardens to start his patrol. Day class curfew wasn't until another couple of hours, but he thought it wise to shoo some of the students towards the dorms sooner than later. However, most of his time involved him pacing around and rubbing constantly at the knots that had formed under his shoulder blades from the stress. 'What the hell am I supposed to do about all of this?'It wasn't normal for boy's to like each other in that way...to kiss, but Caelan had done it so easily. 'He'd just been tired is all. He probably just thought I was somebody else...does he have a crush on somebody?'A slight frown appeared in his features, almost perturbed to imagine. Caelan having a crush, that in itself seemed odd. He was so reserved with his feelings. Devan didn't recall any time the boy might have told him if he had a crush, ever. Was it a girl at the school? This was such a mess. There was no way he could go to the headmaster about this...or anyone for that matter. Devan had no choice but to resolve his internal conflicts on his own. Perhaps pretending like it never happened would be the best idea possible. @ caelan || yea he's really freakin out lol.

Don't let it show. The Cold never bothered me anyway Nate had been dealing with his brother for the past few days. Now he didn't mind it because Caelan barely said a word. When he wanted things, he just pointed at them, or wrote it down. Since that was all he could really do. The small boy didn't want to push his brother, as angry as he could be with him. Just right now he needed air. So he made sure to put Caelan to bed and wrapping him up in the blankets. "Good night Caelan...I wish you two would just talk to each other." He rolled his eyes and walked out of the room. Wondering what he'd end up doing, this was probably not going to change matters all. Not now. At this point he had no idea where he was going as he locked his dorm up tight. Leave Caelan alone he had said earlier. Wanting him to fall asleep and stay asleep at that. For at least a little while.
Somehow while he was wrapped up in his own thoughts he ended up somewhere he never thought he would. Not after the episode with the princess meaning Melanie. She had to push his buttons, and every time he thought about it that thing annoyed him. What else was he supposed to do about this right now? It wasn't bound to help him either but whatever he'd deal with it. Not like anyone would be out here at this time. Hunters were on patrol but not here. Vampires were in class, the humans would be back in the dorms. Or at least that was how the schedule was supposed to be if people decided to follow it this time. "The hell are you pacing for you idiot?" He rolled his eyes as he glanced towards the older hunter. Caelan and Devan annoyed him a lot.
So of course Nate might be a bit snappy. After all he had to clean up after them, quite a lot of the time. And he hated it but like that'd do him any good. Right? So for now he'd just have to deal with this. Caelan would want him to, for once. But of course that didn't mean he'd enjoy all of this stuff either. Nate was tired, he wanted to get some rest but with Caelan that only worked so well. Go figure what little lucky he had at this point. For now he'd rather not get dragged back into that stuff, since it wasn't going to help much. Not at this point anyway. Yet he wondered what to say, or how to figure this out either. Nate only watched Devan with his arms behind his head and the music blaring in one ear.
So much for peace, someone had decided to play the let's prevent that sort of game apparently. Not exactly his luck but Nate would deal. tag: Devan Cross • words: ### • notes: none • template by kaito of aizrp

He was on edge and anxious. The voice that suddenly appeared seemingly out of no where hadn't helped at all. Devan flinched harshly, and instinctively pulled out the gun that had been hidden in the small of his back. He turned quickly, his reflexes still sharp, and aimed the barrel at the intruder. The metal clicked due to his swift actions, however, as he held his finger on the trigger and narrowed his eyes at the person who'd startled him he slowly began to recognize the kid. Thankfully he wasn't a 'normal student' from the day class, or a move like that would have seriously raised suspicion. "Nate? Is that really you?" Devan was sincerely surprised. First Melanie, now Nate. When had he gotten here? Caelan hadn't mentioned him attending. He lowered his weapon and hid it back where it had been. He didn't have anything to worry about it if was just Caelan's brother. A small smile appeared on his face, pleased to see the kid despite the circumstances. Though not only this, but he was glad to finally have a real distraction from his thoughts of Caelan. Even if it was his brother, if he just talked to somebody it might take his mind off of 'other' things. "It's been awhile huh? How have you been kiddo?" He said, walking over to the boy. Once close enough he'd reach out and try to ruffle the boy's hair, regardless of how much he knew Nate didn't like being touched by him. The kid was so sensitive sometimes, but it was this that slightly amused Devan. He wasn't picking on the kid to be mean, but he wished that Nate would lighten up a little. He was so serious for being someone younger than both himself and Caelan. It wasn't necessary. "I had no idea you were attending Arden. Damn bed rest has completely kept me in my own world I guess. What are you doing out here? You should head back to the dorms. Curfew is in a few hours."@ caelan || be happy cally. devan demands it

Don't let it show. The Cold never bothered me anyway He only rolled his eyes, the gun didn't bother him. Nate had actually just looked right at it and grumbled. Why would Devan do that? What good would it do? What would it help? Seriously Devan was such a moron and he wondered what Caelan even saw in that idiot. But if he spoke about it now he'd just get slapped by Caelan later. As per usual whenever he did something his big brother didn't like. "Really put the gun down, what ya gonna do shoot a rabbit." Nate only crossed his arms over his chest and waited. This really didn't bother him. It was so stupid after all. Devan needed to watch what he did with that gun. Nate had more then enough injuries and those were for hunting vampires not humans. What would it do to him, hunter blood or not. Devan was a bit clueless for someone who should know that stuff.
"No I'm created by your weird ass imagination, and I have to ask why are you daydreaming about me?" He asked in a very sarcastic manner, this wasn't so bad. At least he thought it wasn't. But what could he end up doing, so far it might not end up working. Either way he'd figure it out eventually. Somehow right? That seemed to almost be a logical course of action, for now. But trying to think about it was not going to be of much help to him either. Why would it be? Nate had just had a gun shoved right in his face. So of course he might be in a bit of a bad mood. Could anyone blame him? Would anyone blame him for that sort of thing?
He'd kick Devan if he tried. Already he had to deal with the annoyance of him fluffing and ruffling his hair for no reason. He was not Devan's brother. He had no like of Devan, he barely liked being around Caelan. And lately that was all he'd been doing was taking care of the crybaby that was his brother. "Tch annoyed, and done cleaning up other people's messes. Now what the heck is your problem besides that noble bs you got yourself and my brother dragged into?" Nate looked at him with that serious look, he didn't know how to relax. He never knew how to do any of that could someone blame him once again? No not at all.
"Tch like I care, I'm doing someone else's patrol tonight. He has to sleep up for something else he's doing. Or whatever, I don't ask. But whatever, you were thinking too hard again weren't you? That tiny brain you have will explode if you keep doing that." He was speaking the truth in some weird way. Go figure right? Probably not his best idea but who cared. tag: Devan Cross • words: ### • notes: none • template by kaito of aizrp

That lip of his was going to get Nate beat up one day, but in the mean time it kept Devan entertained. He'd never seen such a serious, grumpy little kid in his life, and for some reason he really did like Nate. He even felt bad for him. Devan wasn't blind to the fact that the kid disliked being the younger sibling. He knew Nate had a lot to live up to with Caelan, as even he felt that way as well. He could only imagine what it must be like to be his friends younger sibling. Though he wished the guy wouldn't take everything so seriously. Devan blinked, and stood up a bit straighter after Nate's comment about the noble. He'd been confused at first, as if he'd forgotten, though in reality there was much he truly didn't even know about what happened that night. However he understood what Nate might have meant. "Oh. heh." He replied awkwardly, his smiling returning once more as he raised his right hand and rubbed the back of his neck. He had no idea how much Nate knew about what had happened, and it was embarrassing that he was aware of it too, but he couldn't expect anything less. His family was fairly close with the Rochester's. No doubt his mother informed Nate's parents, especially since Caelan was involved as well. "Sorry. I know I really messed up that time, but that's why I'm trying not taking out anymore hunter's missions until I finish school." He didn't mean to apologize, but it just sort of came out. Nate was Caelan's brother, and he did feel as if he owed the kid an apology as well, even if he wasn't directly involved in what had happened. Devan had still been responsible for Caelan getting hurt though, and he did feel guilty for it. As Nate continued, Devan ignored his latter remarks and rude under tones. His hand lowered from his neck, and his faint smile faded to an expression of concern and curiosity. "Who Caelan? Where is he? ..I thought he was still in our dorm."@ caelan || notes

Don't let it show. The Cold never bothered me anyway Not that he cared what people like Devan thought, or like anyone thought. Basically. He kept things to himself, Nate always had and his lip was the way to keep people away. Most of them got mad and hated him so it really worked in theory. Basically. But what was he truly doing? Not a damn thing right now. He was probably only causing more unwanted or not needed issues on top of that. He had to take things seriously since Caelan didn't. That boy didn't seem to have a care in the world when it came to these things. Go figure right? Just what was he starting to turn into? This probably wasn't going to help but Nate had almost missed being a child without a care in the world. But now he could never be that way. All because of stupid Caelan, and maybe even stupid ass Devan. But he let those thoughts die before they even left his head.
Such a better place for them at this point it seemed. Right? At least for now, that was all he'd end up thinking of, since dwelling never helped. He would just keep on talking or figure something out? Right? For now, though did it really even matter for once right? Apparently this was a weird, and he'd rather not end up getting dragged into this stuff, but what was he going to say. He didn't want to be the younger sibling, he didn't want to deal with any of this. Since it wasn't likely to help him either. Not at this point. So for now he'd learn to shrug it off. Somehow at the very least, perhaps he was not helping himself. Or Devan but who cared. Really who cared at all by now. He didn't, Devan wouldn't know a darn thing and Caelan was asleep. So whatever.
He only rolled his eyes, this was so stupid and so annoying. What could he end up doing? How could he go through this without saying the wrong thing? Oh wait he never cared, Nate never cared even when Caelan told him he probably actually should. Right? "Yea no shit, you finally figured it out. You should have been careful, you are supposed to be the example here after all. At least no one else knows about that besides us. Now seriously what the hell happened that night? And you still haven't told me why you are out here." He only rolled his eyes again then looked at him. This didn't matter, none of it did but why the heck was he still being a stubborn butt? At this point it probably wouldn't mean much.
"No he's in my dorm asleep in my bed, has been for a few nights now. You never noticed seriously? He's leaving tomorrow morning, if you give a shit you'll go see him. And get him off my back too, he's my brother but he's your damn friend. So you deal with him." He was not in the mood, but of course he was also milking this thing with his brother for all he could. Even if Caelan was just over exhausted, and only had to go out with one of the hunters for tomorrow, basically. But what was he going to say? How would Devan handle this? tag: Devan Cross • words: ### • notes: none • template by kaito of aizrp

Nate could be so harsh, but Devan didn't take his words very seriously. He was still young and inexperienced. Devan wasn't that old himself but he felt he had more life experience under his belt, despite their few year difference. "Yea yea. I understand," He said with another one of his smiles. He was brushing off the kid, but deep down he noted his words. Nate was right. He was supposed to be the example, and he'd messed up. He was only human, but from now on he would be better, work harder. He didn't just have himself to protect after all. As for why he was out here, he thought that was obvious. "I was just doing a sweep of the gardens. Making sure that students weren't lingering around in here." That was innocent of a task right? He was of course leaving out the fact that he'd been trying to come up with some sort of plan to deal with this Caelan, and the kiss issue, but he didn't think Nate needed to hear that. It wasn't that he didn't trust the kid, but something like that was sincerely personal. "You don't have to worry about the details Nate, the mess is going to be resolved ev-..." He seized himself entirely. Devan's body freezing after hearing what the boy had said about Caelan, leaving. What?? When had he decided to do that? Devan's smile faded quickly. Caelan hadn't told him that he planned on leaving. Was it because he'd been avoiding him? Was he already transferring to a different school? "Caelan's leaving? Leaving where?.. He never mentioned that he was going anywhere." It was perhaps a bit hypocritical of him, but Devan wanted that boy to tell him things. Since when was Cael keeping secrets like this? Devan looked like he was physically breaking down. His entire posture had slumped. If a dark cloud could form above his head to emphasize how upset he felt, it would. @ caelan || oh gawd, here come the puppy dog eyes

Don't let it show. The Cold never bothered me anyway The boy should have stopped but he wanted Caelan out of his room as soon as possible. And with Devan avoiding him that would never happen. Nate was almost sick of it, he might not have enjoyed it when they were dating. But at least he didn't have to deal with Caelan constantly. And they both were happier then. But of course if he brought that up it might not end so well. Not at all. He didn't seem to care if he was hated either. Nate never cared, what he did think about this? Why was he trying to help. It felt so confusing and lost in general to him apparently. With a small sigh he just rubbed his neck. "Look, they don't usually come to the garden after classes end, there's a few but that's mostly the ones who wanna get high so look in the back of the garden next time anyway. By now they've probably all left." Why was he being helpful? Oh right for Caelan. He wanted to get Caelan out of his life, out of his room. At least for right now.
He only rolled his eyes and yawned. He was not in the mood for this, why was Devan such an idiot. He wanted to smack him in the head and tell him to go back over there. But like he'd do that. Devan needed a push sometimes, and he wasn't always good at that. Basically. Seriously what was he going to say? "Devan look, you need to go see him. Stop asking me questions, he said he didn't want to bother you because you seemed so busy. So I'm guessing something happened, and you've been avoiding him again. But he has no idea what it is? So he's just assuming something else like you know Caelan does. Now really Devan, there a lot of things you don't remember from that Noble incident isn't there?" He had to ask, this was leading somewhere. He would not let Devan run away. Not yet, he'd have to wait.
"I dunno man, he said it's hunting related but Caelan keeps to himself. You know that. Maybe he wanted to tell you but decided against it for some reason? But whatever Devan stop avoiding my questions or I won't tell you a damn thing about my brother." He spoke with that temper again, he was not going to change his mind. Devan needed to learn and he'd make sure the boy learned. Somehow. Even if he knew Caelan might get mad at him later, those details didn't even seem to matter now. What use were they after all? Right? He needed to get them talking and out of his hair, basically. tag: Devan Cross • words: ### • notes: none • template by kaito of aizrp

Devan couldn't believe this. Caelan was leaving? What had he done that was so horrible?? Did Cael just not like it here? He had so many questions, some that he could ask, others he couldn't. He had to talk to Caelan but he felt slightly betrayed that his best friend would just leave without even talking to him about it first. When Devan saw this as a betrayal, he couldn't help but feel hurt, and angry. His brows furrowed until he shut his lids. He lifted a hand to his neck and rubbed it fratedly while Nate went on. He wanted to ignore the fact that he knew kids got high around here, something that Devan wanted to ask Nate how he was even aware of that until he figured the boy wouldn't even tell him. He was getting angry more and more as the boy went on. Though it wasn't Nate's fault, Devan just wanted to make him stop talking about all of this. The fact that there was still a few things he didn't remember from that night had been bothering him since. He got headaches from the amount of pressure he put on himself to remember. He could see that it bothered Caelan, but at this point he'd figured the best thing to do was put it behind the both of them. Though, this was where it got him? With Caelan threatening to leave, and his brother mouthing him off. Nate thought his temper was short, but when Devan was angry.. "Whatever then! I don't have time to deal with you Nate." He growled harshly, suddenly dropping his hand from his neck and glaring over at his best friends brother. His demeanor had changed significantly. "Go back to the dorms. I have a sweep to do, and I'm not going to waste my time talking about this anymore. Tell Caelan he can do whatever the hell he wants. If he wants to leave...Then fine!" Even though he was angry, he still had a difficult time saying that, but he forced himself and turned on his heel to storm off. When he turned away his expression looked remorseful, and hurt, but he quickly shook it off. @ caelan || he's hiding his feelings behind anger >< dont take offense nate

Don't let it show. The Cold never bothered me anyway Nate was waiting for Devan to catch on but it didn't seem to be working. What luck did he have? None apparently. This was so stupid, why the hell was Devan such a clueless moron. He needed to stop letting his anger take over every god damn thing at this point. It would not end up doing him any good. But that was too late on that one, Nate could already tell that he was going to snap. Nate should just give up it wasn't going to do any good. He shouldn't even bother to try. But yet he wanted to still, he wanted to see those two morons back together. Of course Devan wasn't listening to him now he was only getting angry. "Ugh you are a stubborn fucking moron. First Caelan being all damn depressed, and you avoiding him. God I feel like a fucking babysitter." He grumbled and rolled his eyes. This was so annoying at this point.
No one ever had time to deal with him. So why did it matter? What could he say? Right now it probably wasn't so important. Caelan would be leaving tomorrow thinking Devan hated him. Not like Nate had made it any better, but Devan never bothered to listen he just snapped. So whatever. Nate dug into his jacket and pulled out the bag with Caelan's pictures in it and dangled it out so Devan could see. "He really does think you are just tired of him Devan. So can't really blame him for leaving. You do what you want, just stay away from my brother if you want to be a clueless dick. He doesn't need to be hurt by things he can't have." He moved away from him and would just back to his room to find his brother. But not before he thought of throwing something at Devan. It wasn't a huge rock, only a small one that would hit Devan in the back. But Nate didn't use his full strength as he just walked back to see his brother sleeping in the bed.
Let Devan leave, this just didn't matter. It was stupid to even think that idiot would bother to listen to him. But Nate needed to calm down before his brother woke up. If he saw Nate mad he'd want to know why and what was going on at that. tag: Devan Cross • words: ### • notes: none • template by kaito of aizrp
