history A bright happy girl with a fairly average life, except for the fact that she has grown up in a home full of vampire hunters. Like most vampire hunters, both of her parents possess the 'hunter blood'. However her upbringing in comparison to others may have perhaps been fairly lenient. Melanie, opposing all ideas of ever being schooled at home, attended public school since she was able. Having a fairly independent, active spirit, she has since gained much of her current skills from the outside world rather than her parents who have tried ever so hard to keep her under their control. No matter how many times they may have tried to drill her to act a certain way or to view the world through their eyes she only saw, or did as she saw fit. Her love for normality, and the relationships she made with friends that were what she would describe as 'normal', drove her to peruse a more average joe existence rather than the gun slinging, blade wielding life of a hunter. Her parents being aware of her tendencies to rebel against their wishes, are at odds with their daughter, however when it comes to Melanie have very little control over the things she does. They love her nevertheless, though still try to maintain some form of control over Mel while at the same time try not to be so overbearing. Clearly their efforts have, for the most part been a waste, as her latest endeavor was to attend Arden -a school that they are very much oppose to. Her parents are fairly prejudiced towards vampires, however Melanie has never truly shared their view. She sees this change as a good thing, and believes that humans and vampires could get along splendidly in the future. She hopes to promote this idea, and looks up to the headmaster very much for his gall to create such a school where many of his colleagues must think like her parents. ability specialization Since Mel isn't very far in her training as a hunter she doesn't have very solid skills in any fighting form. Most weapons scare her in fact, and she positively hates knives and sharp pointy objects. She has however been in track since elementary school, and cheer leading since middle, and has some gymnastic ability. She's quite healthy and can out run most of her peers. misc.
