HUNTER, devan cross

Born to a family of hunters, Devan Cross, the eldest of his parents children, as always been held to high standards. Even when he was little he held many responsibilities, most of which were the disciplines of his training to become a hunter as his parents once he was of the appropriate age.

Home schooled since he was in kindergarten, Devan was taught a typical curriculum of reading, writing, and math by his mother, while in contrast his father taught him the history of hunters and the vampire kind, how to fight, and what would be expected of him once he had the choice to join the ranks of hunters such as his parents.

Devan never had any real issue with any of the things taught to him. His parents were loving and honest. They cared for the safety and well being of all of their children and they simply wished the best for Devan also. However, as he went into his later years of middle school he began to wonder what it would be like to not live as a hunter anymore.

This questioning of his status, was perhaps due to the fact that he began to develop a crush on his best friend -Caelan Rochester. He knew that a life with Caelan could never exist as anything more than friends if he chose to become a full fledged hunter, and he feared the consequences of disappointing his family -causing him to keep such thoughts and feelings to himself for years.

Only after Caelan ended up confessing to him did he accept his feelings, and communicate them to him. However this 'love' didn't last long. One of Devan's uncles found out about their relationship and its developments, and paid off a noble vampire to wipe Devan's memory clean of any memory he may have had that created too much of a closeness between the two of them.

However, with Devan already having planned to attend Arden Academy before the memory wipe, he brought Caelan along still, not knowing that his best friend still remembered everything that had gone on between them before hand.

As a hunter Devan has fairly well rounded fighting skills, however he specializes in close combat and gun wielding. He has his limits with both of course as he's still 'human'.

Fears:
• Vampires - to an extent. In truth he fears the capabilities they have, and believes that they definitely shouldn't govern themselves. He hides this fear well though, and only ever truly shows it when he or his family are placed in serious danger due to one or more.
• Other supernatural things - Basically anything other than vampires he's far more terrified of. Ghosts, magic, witches, demons. It doesn't matter if they're not real or not, the fact that vampires even exist freaks him out enough -and at least he knows how to kill a vampire.
