Devan holstered his gun in his jeans and pulled out his knife instead. It wasn't enchanted in anyway whatsoever, but after he got a good look at the place they were going to step into...He didn't want to be making a whole lot of noise. After hopping out of his truck he stopped to just stare at the abandoned building that had clearly seen it's time. Most of the windows were boarded or missing, the paint on the front door was peeling, and inside it looked dark as hell. His expression read his discomfort for the place already, even before they'd gotten the chance to step inside. "Do we really have to go in there?...Can't we just lure them out?" Devan was acting childish and scared, but he really hated this scenario. At least the last place they'd gone was an average neighborhood. It may have been dark then too but it was nothing like this. The sun was setting behind them, and they'd have to take care of this quickly if they wanted to make it back to Arden at a decent our. Devan swallowed hard and waited for Caelan to answer him. He still had a false hope that the guy would just want them to turn back around. It wouldn't be so wrong to chicken out at a time like this, when they were still mentally recovering from their last ultra fuck up -or rather Devan's. He sure as hell wasn't going to let that happen again, but he wished that Caelan would at least stay behind so he didn't get in the way. Though he'd clearly forgotten how well that worked last time. "Maybe you should just wait for me out here. I can hurry if I go by myself..."@ caelan || notes

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan focused on checking his weapons, making sure they were reloaded and not jammed. He slipped the guns under his jacket. It was a size to big for a reason, it covered them up very well. The boy just pulled back his right sleeve and just checked the knives to make sure he had them. He was not going to dwell on this too much. They were just going out for another mission and this was his life. They did this all the time. Or well he had since Devan got hurt. It had always fallen to Caelan instead to pick up the slack that Devan couldn't. Caelan slipped his headphones around his neck, the music had kept him from thinking too hard before. And he just kept carrying it with him now. He didn't need to hear the vampires to find them. He wasn't a hunter just because he knew how to kill. Caelan had other skills hidden under his weak appearance. Or weak according to the ones who knew him from before.
Slipping out of the truck he just cracked his neck. This wasn't bad for him. He had gone into worse before, so this was going to be a cake walk for him. If Devan wanted to come at all. "Yes we do, if it bothers you that much. Just go sit in the truck, or wait for me here. That place doesn't have anything but blood suckers in it." Basically. This was already something he felt annoyed with. And yet he'd rather not end up dealing with that. So he was being forced to sit out? Devan wanted him to sit out. Right. "Right, like you'd be able to handle it. Are you really sure you want to go by yourself puppy?" He asked as he just glanced at him. This was already strange. And yet he'd rather not end up getting into that.
Caelan was worn out, his body needed some rest after this mission. Working his body too hard was just one of his ways ,and it was stupid. Basically. Yet right now he didn't know what to do. It was already a bit complicated, or out of place. He glanced at Devan, then back to the location. "Come on Devan. The sooner we get it done the better, I just want to go out and eat." He was the type who could eat after hunting, and killing people. Honestly this didn't matter to him. Was it even going to be much of a bother? Probably not. He just had a feeling things were already getting a bit tense.
"If you really think you can do it by yourself. But really it's a bit too soon for that you know." He said as he just yawned a bit. This wasn't so bad, and yet it might be. What was he supposed to do? Just what was he going to say about this stuff? At least for now he felt that he might not be in the right spot for some of it. He didn't like just being stuck standing around. But like it mattered. He'd just have to figure this out later. Once Devan decided just what he wanted to do. |

Blood suckers. Devan's nose slightly wrinkled at the term. Even he didn't like hearing it, though not because it offended him, but instead because it placed even more disturbing images in his head -like leeches or creepy little bugs with hundreds of rows of teeth. He shrugged his shoulders, tensing up at the thought of these things before he shot Caelan a more flustered glance. "I'm not a damn puppy. I'm the one telling you to wait out side aren't I?" He knew then that he had no other choice but to man the hell up. He shut his door and glanced over at the abandoned bed and breakfast and sighed. He affirmed to himself then that he was going to get this done, this time without completely fucking it all up. At any rate, Caelan was right. The sooner they finished this the sooner they'd be able to go back to the dorms and just relax. "Fine. Let's get this over with then." He said, glancing over at Caelan to make sure that he was ready, before he stepped towards the front door. It was true that Devan didn't want to strain himself either. The last thing he wanted was to go another few weeks having no choice but to lie in bed all day. It wouldn't help Caelan at all. He reached out to push the door open, but it was difficult to move, and caused him to use some of his muscle just to get it to open. The bottom of the door scraped against the wood floor, creating an awful noise. Devan cringed and glanced over at Caelan apologetically, knowing that they were supposed to be trying to be as quiet as possible here to give themselves the upper hand. "Sorry.." He whispered, waiting for Cael to enter before walking up to cover his back. @ caelan || i love devan seriously lol

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need He wanted to get this job done, maybe they'd have some info on the noble. Caelan only agreed for this reason. The boy had no other plans to stick around, other then well maybe Devan needed his help. Devan wasn't that weak since he got back out of bed. But still the headmaster and Caelan would rather not risk him getting hurt further. More so by another vampire, it didn't seem like a good idea to let him go alone just yet. So of course the idea of being forced into this was something he'd never be able to get out of. Basically. Caelan just sighed at him, really this was only succeeding in making both of them grumpy. But honestly he wanted the mission to end. He just wanted to rest back at the school. Was that honestly too much to ask. Other people asked for more, he only wanted time off. If he wanted money he'd ask, if he wanted anything else he'd ask. But he didn't. Not right now at least.
"Tch fine You go by yourself. I'll sit out here and wait for nothing, and then go explore one of the vampire hide outs near here." He huffed a bit as he spoke. He didn't mean he would literally. He was just grumpy with Devan. And he wanted him to stop being such a chicken sometimes this couldn't hurt that badly. Or so he thought. But who knew. Caelan had understood his fear of these places. But that wasn't what Caelan was going on about right now. Not at all. But of course Devan was always a bit of an airhead when it came to these things. For some reason or another he always assumed someone was out to get him. Or someone was picking on him. Which Caelan did do, but not that much.
"That's better. Now come on." He was already pretty much fed up, he wanted this to end already. It was seriously taking a lot more longer then he wanted. Why did they have to get this mission? A night break sounded so much better right now. But of course what good would it even do. Right? Caelan just shook his head and motioned for him to walk in carefully, behind Caelan at that. The smaller one of the two just slipped through the door instantly and examined the area. So far it seemed no one had woken up. Which that in itself was good. But he still felt a bit uncertain by all of it. Who knew what might be waiting for them at this point. Right? He did not feel like dying early because of someone else.
Caelan wasn't speaking, he seemed to be looking around them. That area around them, it just seemed to be way too quiet. |

Devan cleared his throat after he raised his head to look up at the banister on the second floor. The stairs looked old and worn, and Devan wasn't so sure they'd be able to hold much weight but there wasn't very many options unless he boosted Caelan up. That however, would require them to split up until Devan could find a way up himself, and he wasn't a fan of that idea. He carefully nudged Caelan in the back to get his attention, then pointed to the stairs with his knife. "What d'you think? Should we test the stares?" There weren't many rooms or places to hide on the first floor, at least not from what Devan could see, and in truth he really didn't want them to get cornered in the narrow hallways on this floor. He couldn't sense any vampires yet, but it was disturbing enough that it was so quiet to begin with. Devan didn't like this at all. Maybe they should split up...they'd be able to cover more ground quicker. "Maybe we should split up...I don't like this place, it's fuckin creepy." He complained, raising the hand he'd used to nudge Caelan to rub the knots out of his shoulder. It wasn't working, but the tenseness in his limbs only proved that he was stressed as hell. It was even darker inside than it was out. The sun setting in the horizon only peeked through slits in the boarded windows, and the whole place was coated in thick layers of dust that made it seem as if the building was wearing a mask. It was threatening Devan to sneeze, but he held it in for the sake of not pissing Caelan off by making more noise. @ caelan ||

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan only sighed, this place was boring already. He'd rather just run the heck out of here, or just end the mission. Both sounded good. Mostly the second one, since if they didn't he'd be sent back here. Or they both would. "H-huh? Uh yea..." He had been zoned out and Devan got him out of that. So at least now he'd pay attention. For now. Caelan honestly felt eyes on him, like someone was watching. Just waiting for a second to pounce. Which was not something he liked. Vampires could be such scary creatures though ever since he was a child he never showed his fear. He just looked at Devan then moved over the stairs. Maybe this would be alright. He at least hoped it would. "If you want to split up...you can search down here?" Caelan asked as he glanced at the stairs again. The boy just wondered what might be lurking.
Who knew what they'd find. Well actually they knew. Vampires were here. So a lot of dead bodies, or dying people perhaps. But he knew he didn't want to leave Devan. Of course though they couldn't remain attached the whole time during a mission. That never worked in his favor. They'd both get hurt, or one of them would get hurt worse then the other. Neither were good options. Caelan glanced back at Devan and really wondered what he was thinking. Right now it must seem really awkward. Or something. But what was he going to do. At this point he'd rather just make it all go away. If that was even possible. "Just look let's split up, you stay down here and look around, I'll go up there. You know the way we usual work. Let's just do that again. You can handle it?" He asked, he was giving him some benefit here.
"Look you'll be just fine. Okay. Let's go. We have work to finish." He spoke with a small smile, always using it to comfort Devan was easy enough. But it didn't change how bad he felt. He just had a feeling something was going to happen. Something he didn't like, or he'd just never like. Caelan waited, trying not to start tapping his foot on the ground. Pushing Devan to make a response was not exactly a way to win. He didn't like this place either, but Caelan would rather not talk about it.
That just seemed inappropriate right now. |

He noticed that Caelan was spacing out, and it did worry him. He wondered if he was nervous due to what had happened the last time they'd done this, though of course Devan had no idea that Cael had been trying to hunt down that noble that had attacked them before. He watched the boy carefully, trying to read his body language and the manner in which he spoke, but Devan couldn't find anything too bizarre. He exhaled deeply through his nose, and softened the slight furrow in his brow. "Okay." He said, accepting their formulated plan, even though it still scared him that Caelan would be going on his own. "If anything happens, just yell." He didn't care if it ruined their cover, if something happened to Cael he would need to know so he could run to help. Devan glanced past Cae and over at the stairs. He just wanted to get the hell out of here, and despite his apprehension of letting Caelan wander off without him he gestured for him to go ahead. "If I don't find anything, I'll be upstairs to find you." He kept his voice low as he spoke, but he waited for the shorter male to respond to him before returning his attention to the hall just passed the front desk area in the lobby, where they currently stood. 'Let's make this quick.' He said to himself whilst taking his first step forward. The wood beneath his sneakers creaked slightly, prompting him to step lightly. 'How old is this place?' It looked like it should have been demolished years ago. Even the wallpaper was rotting off of the walls. Devan swallowed hard as he maneuvered further down the hall. At the end it appeared that there was a kitchen. He could see parts of the counter tops and what looked like a fridge. He decided he'd start there then make his way back. This wouldn't take him very long, or so he hoped. The first floor appeared to mostly be for entertainment purposes than anything else. 'This isn't a horror movie...you have weapons. Vampires aren't scary.'@ caelan || he's being such a little bby

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need So he had his own issues, but what was he supposed to do. Right now it probably didn't mean much, Caelan needed to stop zoning out. Even if he was worried by the things that might happen. Like if they got attacked again. He did not wish to actually think about that. Since it'd probably end up making him distracted again. So for now he'd rather just relax. "Let's go okay? We'll be alright." He smiled a bit, and just tried to focus on the mission. They did need to go back to work. Which this was exploring this place, he didn't know what might be waiting though. As Caelan started to climb up the steps he almost thought about taking the knife or gun out. Though if he did that it'd probably end up bringing attention to him. And he wanted to seem almost vulnerable for a moment. "Of course don't worry about me. I'll yell if I need your help." He just laughed, Caelan seemed to be way too playful. This was weird honestly. Why did he end up acting like this.
Caelan felt weird, his head was starting to hurt. He felt so stressed out. Yet for this moment he'd rather not end up causing problems. At least for Devan. He just pulled the gun out from underneath his jacket, this was not going to bother him. Right now he'd rather just shrug it off. So for a moment he needed to focus on the mission at hand. Which was finding the target. "I wonder if Devan is having any luck...so far I've got nothing." He grumbled as he just walked further. So what if he was talking to himself. This didn't even matter. He was trying to figure things out and it made him feel a bit sick as well. His body was starting to focus. And yet it'd probably not end up doing him any better. Not at this point really. So he'd rather just shake it off, and learn to deal. They needed to hunt. They couldn't just let things happen.
If people died because of them, he would not end up liking this idea. Not at all. "Of course Devan...Don't worry about it." He said as he just glanced around. He still didn't want anything bad to happen to him. But right now he couldn't think about that. What if something was here. Something was watching basically. This already made him feel really awkward. Caelan had a feeling something was waiting here for them. And he just kept on walking holding the gun in his hand. It was close to his jacket though so no one would be able to get to it. Basically. This was just something he wanted to keep a hold of.
He really did want to call Devan. He hoped he was alright, that love for him was hard to ignore. He just had to keep it, and he was not about to change his mind. Not right now. |

He was walking so desperately slow. He told himself it was because he had to be stealthy, but mostly it was because he was terrified. What if this place was haunted? Devan considered it and it only made him all the more paranoid. He was on edge, and being hypersensitive to every little noise. It was no surprise then that he nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard the sound of footsteps running behind him from one room to the next. Devan gasped sharply, and turned to look behind him. There was nothing there, but knowing this didn't make him feel better. "Caelan?" He whispered quietly, just to make sure his partner hadn't come down the stairs. If that guy was messing with him at a time like this he was so dead. Though not a single voice answered him in return, and even a few seconds later he was met with nothing but silence, so he continued forward on his way to the kitchen. 'Tch, ghosts aren't real anyways. Only in the movies...Only in the movies' Devan stepped closer to the wall to his right, wanting to make sure that his back was at least somewhat covered while he peeked inside the opened door to the kitchen. Still, he didn't hear or see anything. This brought much relief to him, despite how he should have been more worried for Cael. Whatever the case there was no way in hell he was staying down here any longer. The two could search the rest of the building together, Devan wasn't doing this alone anymore. He turned back to head towards the lobby and the stairs, however, as he pivoted on his heel he stopped dead in his tracks as he stared at the figure before him. Startled at first, Devan didn't say a word. His heart had lurched out of his chest, but once he registered the size of the person he realized it wasn't more than a little boy. He looked a little dirty, but like he definitely didn't belong here. Without knowing what else to do, Devan sheathed his knife so as not to scare the kid, and calmly cleared his throat. "Hey kiddo. What're you doing here huh?" He inquired smoothly, raising his hands in the air to show that he meant no harm. "Are you lost?" Devan was a complete moron. He was so scared, so mentally out of it, that he didn't even notice what this kid was. However, he didn't entirely lower his guard. He didn't feel right still, and because of his he made a mental note of both the gun behind him and the knife he'd put away. @ caelan || if you want to make something happen to caelan, it would be a good time for that to happen now

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan couldn't shake that suffocating feeling. He moved around, and it was like things were watching him. Just how annoying was this. Why did he feel so weird. He wasn't supposed to deal with it. He wanted to just rush back to Devan. Devan would make him feel a lot better. Basically he just hoped he'd see him again. With a small sigh he just looked into some of the rooms and started to examine things in them. What was he going to do? Why couldn't he feel as if someone was here to help him. Right? Yet it'd probably not end up doing this, or making it any better. Right? So for a moment he'd rather not drag the negative emotions up. At least not right now. "W-what...?" He thought he heard someone talking to him. Okay that was clearly not his imagination. This house was just, well he didn't have words for it. Blame tricks. Those vampires trying to trick him sounded pretty logical.
"Devan? Where are you? Come on if you are tricking me this isn't funny!" He was not amused in the very least, and he just kept on walking. Maybe this wasn't the best idea. Not right now anyway. Caelan felt his nerves starting to get the better of him again. What was he looking at. This had to be some prank. He just rubbed his eyes and went back on exploring the second floor. He could hear the floor boards creak behind him. But honestly he only thought it was himself doing it. After all he was walking on the floor. So it couldn't be that shocking. Yet it didn't change how weird he felt at this point. He held the gun tighter, and walked. What didn't help was the fact that he suddenly felt a hand on his neck. And one on the gun in his hand. Caelan panicked, and instantly his vision was all a blur. That night came back into his head again and he tried to knock this guy off of him.
This person didn't seem to want to let go, and when Caelan screamed. Well it echoed off the walls, and just spoke of the panic he felt. Caelan was still struggling with the guy, his hand holding the gun. The gun had been ripped from his hand, and Caelan didn't know what he was doing. Why had his nerves gotten the better of him, what didn't make sense was the pain in his head. The blinding pain like he'd been hit by something. It was just too weird. Where was Devan. He noticed the arms on his body weren't relaxing, but this wasn't good. He struggled again trying to get the freak off of him. Which in turn only sent the two of them tumbling down. Caelan lost track of things after that.
He had no idea what was going on with Devan. All he knew was that he had lost the gun somewhere. And this guy was on him, almost like a wolf that hadn't fed in days. He cried out again and tried to kick him. This was not helping, and Caelan felt the hands on his throat again. He didn't know what to do, it just made him feel really weird at this point. He couldn't see, the area around him was just too dark. |

Devan took a slow step towards the little boy. He was trying to rationalize why a child would be in a place like this without drawing to conclusions, but his smooth mind set went right out the front door when he heard the scream of his best friend coming from above him. The thud that reverberated off of the floor a few seconds later sent chills up his spine, and his eyes grew wide from the fear and panic alone. "Caelan!!" Devan would have ran back to the lobby and the stairs, but the second he had taken his attention off of the little boy he was quickly being attacked by him. Devan stumbled as the child went at him teeth barred, but managed to keep himself standing by having his own weight as an advantage. However, his didn't last long while he attempted to reach for the knife sheathed at his side. Devan growled from the pain in his shoulder blades as they hit the hard wood floor, but he had no time to complain. The little boy was on top of him, his fangs were extended and he was attempting to go at his throat like a wild animal. It was sad beyond belief to witness such a young thing with complete loss of his humanity, but Devan had to remind himself that this boy was no longer what he once was. He heard Caelan scream again, and his heart clawed as his chest as if to attempt to jump out. He was terrified. "CALLY!" He screamed after him, hoping that he was okay, and in addition trying to let him know that he was on his way at least. Devan's breathes were panicked and short as he held out his left forearm to keep the boy at a distance from his throat, all the while he arched his back and strained his limbs to try and reach for his gun. The knife wouldn't do a thing, and he had to hurry before something happened to Caelan. Grinding down on his teeth he groaned from the struggle it took just to get his gun out, but once he had it released he quickly aimed it at the boy's head and popped off. Dust and ash feathered into the air, after a sharp scream entered the lobby. He pushed himself up, unsteady at first from the shock of what he'd just done, it took him quite a bit of effort just to make it to the stairs. He ran up them, forgetting that he'd already noted how many of them were rotted, and while he was half way his foot cracked the wood and fell through. Sharp splintered wood cut down his legs, and caused him to bleed. It hurt like hell initially, but as he tried to pull his leg back out it hurt even worse. Still, he could hear Caelan struggling, it was enough to force himself to push his limits. He growled in pain as he harshly lifted his leg out from the broken step, and even though he was injured he didn't waste any time getting to the location of all of the noise. He ran down the hall, and once he'd found the room Caelan was in, he knocked the door in hard. It banged against the wall, but before it could swing back Devan stood in it's way and raised his gun. He fired twice at the vampire, missing the first, but as it lifted it's head, mouth dripping with Caelan's blood, he fired in it's face and he too turned into nothing but dust. "Holy shit.." His voice was raspy and shaken as he leaned against the door. Devan pushed off of it a moment later though, and tucked his gun away as he stumbled over to Caelan. "Hey..You okay?" He dropped to his knees once he was beside the boy, and reached out to check the bite to see how bad a mark was left. When he saw the damage he looked horrified. "Jesus Christ." Level E's didn't feed like normal vampires. They were blood thirsty in every sense of the word. They practically tore flesh apart. Caelan looked like he'd been shot with a small shotgun. @ caelan ||

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need Caelan couldn't wrap his mind around this, Devan almost dying last time had flashed through his head. Now he wasn't one to usually let fear run him. And yet it was already happening. Maybe he was just feeding off of Devan's fear from earlier along with wishing they'd not get hurt again. But too late for that, his neck burned and all he could think of was trying to get it off. Caelan shoved at the monster biting into his neck. He thought he heard steps but his vision was blurred, he was focusing on the monster. That vampire didn't seem to want to stop, even when he finally pushed that thing away from his neck a little bit the level e was still trying to go back to his neck. Seeing his own blood around someone else's mouth was creepy. These things were dangerous, he knew that. But this didn't bother him original. Caelan could fight them, he could protect people and usually not get hurt. "Devan! I-I'm fi-" He shut up instantly, the sound of the gun going off, and then the guy just exploded into dust.
Caelan couldn't collect himself fast enough. The small amount of panic was still all over his face. Devan had saved him, his friend was actually here. This hadn't just been some freaky nightmare. Or some trick. Now that didn't make it any better. The boy looked at the blood on his hand then back at Devan. He tried to get back up, and ignored the weird feeling in his neck. It didn't actually hurt? For him the torn up skin had gone numb. Almost like he was just forcing himself not to feel it out of habit. "You got hurt..." Caelan said as he just glanced at the leg, it had to hurt. That looked really bad. Maybe he should have listened to Devan and just left. But the mission had to be finished no matter what happened. Funny how when Devan showed up Caelan's fingers had almost reached his weapon.
He just chewed his bottom lip and glanced at Devan. He just shivered, the boy's expression was one of fear. And he hated it. Caelan was not supposed to be the scared one. He had to be strong for his friend. As he'd always been. "Devan..I'm sorry. They startled me. Hey I figured you'd be the one getting scared." He laughed as he just reached up to touch the wound. He was not going to worry about this. The wound seemed to be at least better off then it could be at this point. "I'm fine really." He just groaned and dug into his pocket. Caelan wanted to show how truly freaked out he was. But that wouldn't help right now. Caelan just needed to wrap up the wound and move on. That was all he'd do. As Caelan sat there with his fingers gently touching over the damaged skin he actually thought he heard himself whimper.
Caelan had to wonder how he didn't feel those fangs tearing through his skin as bad as he should have. He just found himself scared out of his mind right now. His fingers reaching out to cling to Devan's hand. He wouldn't jump on Devan but this situation had caught him off guard. Getting hurt might be part of the job but still it didn't change how creepy it could be. They needed to go. It would be best, even if there might not be anything else here waiting for them. |

He was scared, but not because of the house any longer. Caelan was bleeding really badly, the wound didn't look pleasant, and even as Cae spoke he swallowed hard and tried not to touch it himself. At least the boy was conscious. Devan would have felt far more panicked if he hadn't been. "I'm fine Caelan, but your not." He stated firmly, brushing off the fact that his friend pointed out his own injuries. Devan's paled in comparison. For him to laugh, it must mean that he was feeling so much pain that Caelan was becoming delirious, or that his adrenaline had kicked and he wasn't feeling it. Whatever the case they needed to get out of here. Once they got to the school, the doctor in the infirmary would be able to take care of him. Devan grabbed Caelan's hand, and pulled it away from the wound with a slight furrow in his brow. "Don't touch it." He demanded, swallowing hard again, though the scent of blood in the air was making even him sick. "We've gotta get the hell out of here. Come on, sit up." Even as he said this he was already tugging on the boy's arm to get him to sit up off of the floor. Devan's weapons were already holstered, and as he glanced over at the gun that Caelan had dropped he reached over to take it too -sighing low under his breath. If he hadn't dropped it...Devan couldn't blame Caelan for panicking. He had freaked too but, at least they had each other's back. Before Caelan could protest, he scooped his arms under his legs and across his back and lifted him up from the floor. It was difficult to keep himself steady at first, and he had to close his eyes to stifle the pain in his leg, but once he felt he had his movements under control he turned towards the door and slowly began to move towards it. "Try to stay awake. If you bleed out I swear I'll kill you."@ caelan || so cute

Your forever is all that I need
Please stay as long as you need The wounds might be worse then he thought, but of course like Caelan was focusing on it. He'd rather not end up digging through this. It made him feel a bit annoyed, to think he got hurt this way. Being the one who was supposed to be careful only got him so far it seemed. And he hated all of it. Not exactly his best idea to split up. Neither of them thought the vampires would attack the way they did. He had felt a lot of pain in his body. More then he wanted to admit. Caelan just feared Devan would lecture him more. Which was also something he didn't like the idea of. But who could really blame him with these recent events anyway. Right? Maybe they'd be alright. He hoped they'd be okay. Mostly Devan. It seemed his best friend and lover was still important over all else right now.
"Huh? I guess I'm not." He still felt confused but Caelan knew his neck was bleeding. He could smell it, as much as he didn't like that idea. Right now he wondered what he was supposed to do? If he pushed too hard he might just end up getting worse. He only blinked at Devan suddenly grabbing his hand. What was the point of that. It sounded really annoying but he also knew his friend had a point. So he'd just deal with this for now. Since it was probably for the best. Either way he knew something might be bad if he touched it. Though so far it wasn't hurting him. Not right now.
"W-what? Why not? Okay fine. Let's just, let's just um get back to the school. Before it does start to bother me." He wasn't going to worry about this. It was almost a bit weird, and yet he'd rather not dig into those things. Basically. Right now he had to wonder just what was going to happen to him. Perhaps he needed to shrug it off, without saying the wrong thing. He didn't want to make Devan mad at him. With everything that had happened. Or would end up happening at some point or another right.
He did try to sit up, if only for Devan. His body was still slightly worn out. And he knew he didn't like it. But what good would it end up doing. Right now he was sure he'd end up getting better really fast. Yet at that moment he felt a bit dizzy, his head wanted to swim. Since he honestly didn't feel good at this point. The wound probably had a hand in that now that he was thinking about it. He didn't even protest he just whimpered. Caelan was starting to feel the pain a little though he kept that stubborn look on his face. Typical thing for him, to be way too stubborn to show his body hurt.
"You wouldn't kill me. I won't bleed out." He just felt as if he was alright. This whole situation was starting to turn around for him. At least just for a little bit. Right? |

While it was true that he wouldn't actually kill his best friend, he would be devastated if something ever happened to him. Though in reality something had happened to the boy. He was bleeding badly and Devan could feel it getting on his clothes, his own neck, as Caelan was forced to lean against him while they maneuvered carefully down the stairs. At least he was still conscious and talking though, Devan needed Caelan's words more than he realized. "Tch, why do you think I wouldn't huh? I'd be pissed if you decided to ditch me here." He was trying to keep the mood light, as Caelan seemed to want, but Devan's mild chuckle was melancholic at best. He was still very scared, regardless of how the immediate threat had been eliminated. Making his way down the stairs hurt his leg like hell. He had to put more pressure on it than he wanted, but he held tightly to Caelan no matter what, refusing to let him go. He groaned from the pain once they met the first floor, but he had no choice but to push it all aside for the sake of his friend, his partner. The drive back to the school would be too long. They'd need to partially patch him up in the car, or else Caelan could end up bleeding out. Devan's face was paling at the thought, but it made his actions more urgent in the process. He didn't waste time trying to nudge the front doors open again, he kicked them hard with his uninjured leg, not caring about that they cracked off of the hinges a moment later. They were out, and the fresh air from the outdoors was freedom in itself. Devan noted the setting sun in the distance, and the orange red glow that cast over his truck like a beacon. He walked over to the passenger side, and carefully set Caelan down to his feet so he could open the door for him. He helped usher the boy inside before he finally let him go and began to rush about to retrieve his first aid kit from the back seat. "This is one hell of a date night huh? If it weren't for the blood and the creepy old building it'd almost be romantic."Devan was just talking to talk, and it was obvious now that he was just trying to keep Caelan talking too. His fear was notable. He hefted the medical kit from the floor and set it on the back seat so he could rummage through it's contents to find what he needed. Rubbing alcohol, gauze, clean cloth to soak up the blood, and medical tape to hold it in place. Devan had a water bottle inside as well, it was partially empty, but thankfully he still had some left, enough to clean the blood off of the wound at least. "This might sound a little inappropriate for a first date, but can you take your shirt off Cael?" If he needed help to do so, Devan would be right there to assist. @ caelan || so cute
