COMMON, garrett burke

Garrett was born in New Hampshire, the newest addition to his family. With a brother six years older than him he was taken care of not only by his parents but his sibling as well, and with their father being in the military these two brothers would end up needing the company of one another (whether it was desired or not). As Garrett grew up his family moved on at a constant basis. He never lived in one place longer then three years, though with each move Garrett became more and more frustrated and distant with his brother. When his sibling went into high school it only caused further separation. Daniel joined the military academy, gaining both credit for school and experience in the armed forces -following after their father.

Garrett however was the exact opposite. He hated the military and the government. He detested moving, and blamed his parents for it. Only when Gary started middle school did the continuous moving stop, though by then he had already developed a problem with getting along with other kids. He was antisocial, angry and rude. He was a brat and he came off that way to everyone, forcing people to avoid him. They didn't understand, and he didn't expect anyone to understand how he felt or why. His parents wished that he would act more like his older brother, responsible and charismatic -but he couldn't mimic Daniel. Their personalities were so different, and Garrett's confidence level could never be high enough to get him to look better than his brother. So he always aimed low. It became a habit of his to never expect anything much of himself unless he knew he could accomplish the things he set out to do, though because of this mindset Garrett has always held himself back.

The only person that ever understood this, and why he acted so antisocial in public, was his one and only friend Darien. They were both kindred spirits, drawn to one another it seemed. They got along easily and it didn't take long for Gary to develop an attachment to the guy. This attachment further giving him reason to dislike Darien's mother, and living situation. Whenever he got the chance he would invite Dar over to his place, always intentionally trying to protect him and keep him from his mother who he didn't like all that much. Though despite how much Garrett disliked his friends guardian and home life he could never judge him for how he was raised.

However, everything changed when Darien's mother began hooking up with a different sort of man. Garrett had only seen him once, but from that moment on he disliked him. He got dark, foreboding vibes from that man, but had kept most of these thoughts to himself. Though he would regret not taking Darien away sooner than later. The man turned out to be a pureblood with what Garrett could only describe as a human fetish. Darien's mother may have thought that she had him wrapped around her finger, but in all honestly it was the other way around. Still, none of them knew what the man really was until one eventful night when Garrett was visiting Darien's home.

It was so rare when he did this, but alas the decision had been made. The both of them had walked in on Darien's mother being slowly drained of her life force by the man who she so foolishly thought she could control, and when they attempted to escape, he attacked them. Their turning wasn't pleasant in the least. He enjoyed watching them writhe and struggle. He was cruel and vile, and neither of them even knew his real name. They were forced to call him Master, and nothing more. He used his pureblood abilities to control them without restraint, and after they received his blood it only became worse. Garrett knew they had to escape from him, or else he feared that he really would kill them. He didn't talk to Darien about his plans to leave, afraid that their Master would notice and question his friend. He didn't want the boy to know anything, and so on the night he decided to escape, he woke Darien up in the middle of the day and hurried him to leave. He made sure to have their things packed already, but in truth they didn't have much.

With Garrett's parents assuming he was dead, he knew that they couldn't go back to his own home. Garrett took the lead, even though he himself didn't believe he had the confidence to keep them safe. Only when they discovered Arden, after traveling miles and miles from Mexico to the United States, Garrett sought out the headmaster, and got them both applied to the school. All the while he kept their origins a complete secret, afraid that the staff at this prestigious school would turn them away. They were lucky to still be alive, and Garrett didn't want to risk either of them being pushed out into the streets again.

Since he is a level C he has no special ability aside from the given vampire traits: heightened senses.

• Eating when bored
• Being too protective of Darien

• Picking at his food
• Leaving fast food wrappers everywhere but the trash
• Falling asleep on the couch

★ Likes.
• MMOs -- he was never allowed to have game consoles at home, so he worked around his parents 'system' and played games on his pc. MMOs and other online games have been his love since he was a kid.
• BIG DOGS -- garrett has had a love for big dogs since he was little. His father felt the same, and thus his family has always owned german shepherds and pit bulls.
• BLACK LICKERISH -- everyone hates it except for him and his dad. His mom thinks Garrett has his fathers appetite but such thing has never been 'proven'.
• FAST FOOD -- t-bell, mcdonalds, kfc, in & out, all complete and literal heaven. Garrett has always been picky with home cooked food, though when it comes to fast food he knows what he's getting.
• CHOCOLATE CAKE -- it's frackin delicious, nuff said.

★ Dislikes.
• BEING COMPARED TO HIS BIG BRO -- garret has always been compared to his older brother Daniel. He was the younger trouble maker, the irresponsible little kid. He absolutely hates being pressured to be more like his older brother.
• HEIGHTS -- he's terrified of heights and high places. Flying on planes is a nightmare he's had to endue many times over due to his fathers military affiliation.
• PEANUTS -- he used to have a nut allergy, something he assumes he acquired after the many years of packed lunches from his mother -though in reality it was more likely he developed the allergy due to his changing body chemistry. However now that he's a vampire he no longer has the allergy, Garrett still hates nuts with a passion. No pp&j's for him.
• THE OVERLY RELIGIOUS -- it pisses him off being around people that preach to him on a daily basis. He doesn't believe in the existence of god, and has a sort of depressing outlook on the world to begin with. It easily pisses him off if he's talking to someone that speaks of god as the reason for everything.
